Cool another data point. I didn't realize the ScienceStudio budget board was AM2. That's really old and it conforms to the idea that later versions of PCIE are built better than the 1.0 spec.
This guy was using an AM3 board that is hardly modern but still a more likely pick up for budget...

I got a 4GB version of the GPU and I'm quite happy with it. It's much louder than I expected it to be but it has helped made playing games on my Acer XB270HU much more enjoyable. Gsync is awesome.

It's amazing you keep comparing an aftermarket version with the reference GPU. On top of that the $170 aftermarkets offer better performance per dollar than the reference 960 at $200 (though if you shop around you can actually find reference cards for $185 right now)

The 950 is better value than the 750 TI even at $120 which is the actual lowest price most people will see because they don't count rebates.

Ofcourse the i5s, i3s and Pentiums won't have that iGPU. I was trying to explain that while SKylake i7 seems to be a terrible upgrade that doesn't justify the increased price Intel might have reached the point where their iGPUs now compete with a discrete GPU.

Nvidia is aware of this problem. What holds them back is that they can't get an x86 license. Their solution is to make an ARM cpu but for many obvious reasons they're still looking for other ways to broaden their GPU markets because ARM (as it exists now) won't cut it for their core discrete GPU...
You're overlooking how laptops work. Even the ones with discrete cards will switch to the iGPU because they are more capable at increasing the battery depletion time.
They don't perform similarly since the blur on AMDs implementation is too much to ignore.
Complaints are cropping up by people who actually have them now.
If someone is interested in ULMB then their only options are a Gsync monitor, or the 1 or 2 displays made by Eizo, LG and Benq with their own variation of strobed backlights.
For now there isn't a free sync monitor that also supports a strobed backlight option. I'm sure it will happen...

Gsync modules can be used in 3 modes one of which is an improved version of lightboost so it will still have value for you in eliminating motion blur.
