    I ended up using a Windows 7 gadget called Network Monitor (http://samwtucker.com/NetworkMonitor) that basically just sits there and pings the device, if it times out it will shoot an email alert and / or audibly let you know. Best of all it's free, so far works great!

    Dude, no you don't. You only need the quotes if there's a space in the path...like: C: \Documents and Settings then you would need them, but if it's just C: \Movies you don't.

    Ya, it's correct, that's how I keep track of my movies folder...if you wanted the file sizes and everything you could do: dir > C: \Test.txt (replace with where you want your txt file to go) I hope you aren't just typing in exactly what he did cause that won't return anything :)
