AMD Athlon64 FX and motherboard and ECC problem

Hi: Okay, as far as I recalled, AthlonFX motherboards need ECC DDR to run, correct? Have anybody tried with ordinary DDR400? Cause I think that in my company, we tried Asus SK8N with Corsair XMS series, and they're okay... Any hint?

Warm: Mushkin 512 PC3200 for 89.99 (+tax) at Fry's store

got handed the basic one from the Fry's in Anaheim...haven't tested it yet since my motherboard only supports upto DDR333(Intel 845 Original board)... Sound like a bummer for DDR400...maybe it'll work nicely in DDR333..>???

A7N8X-X dual channel???

that's how I "FEEL" when I run my friend's 2400+ with nForce2 chipset motherboard last night...just a plain Prime95, with DDR266 in dual channel mode and single-channel mode... The Dual-channel mode does FEEL faster...but other than that, I don't see any significant advantage for it... IN...

Honestly, How would dual-channel improve performance? I mean, for AMD CPUs... If I'm not mistaken...AMD's bus is in DDR format...which means DDR, as long as the bus speed matches, should be enough... Dual-channel DDR? Ain't that making the Memory a bit too "WIDE" for the system Bus to handle...?

Hiya all.. Okay, it's working now...all I have to do is to turn the modem off before I connect everything through, and viola!:P Yup. that's the LInksys model. Right now it's working like a charm...:)

yup. USED to have a STATIC IP DSL...which is easy to configure since I have all the necessary information. But now with a Dynamic IP Cable...while the connection does seem to be faster, I still can't configure my router...:( Any suggestion?

Okay, just switch from a STATIC IP DSL connection(too expensive) to a "Dynamic" IP Cable connection. And just retire my good old Barracade 10bps router and get a Linksys 4-port 10/100. And, these 2 things(Cable modem and Linksys 4-port) don't see an eye-to-an-eye...:( Plug the network cable...

Well, I did happen to grab a SL6RZ. My experience with low-default voltage ain' that good, thuogh. Have to use 1.70v to get to 167x18, but so far it's running great. DDR memory speed is at 413, so it's not too bad for my 2 sticks of Kingston "normal" DDR333 512mb. Wonder how you guys get all...

Looking for opinions on the ECS P4VXASD2+

okay, I went to the Fry's again today and got this board. There is a demo board...and the heatsink was taken off...and it said P4X333 chipset. Still, I'm trying hard to get the 333DDR running speed; since all I can get is 266DDR speed...OUCH. Any beta bios?

Any AT'ers with the XP 1700+/1800+ T-Bred B's yet?

actually, my 1700+ is "half-unlocked," if I may put it this way. THe default multiplier is 11. On both a KT4V and an older 7VRXP, any multiplier below 11 will work. I'm running it at 166x10(don't wanna fiddle with PCI speed) at 0.05v increment. Prime95 can do 10+ hours, so should be stable...

anyone here have an MSI KT4V? how is it different from the KT4 Ultra?

I've been using this board for couple months. So far the only complain is the CPU voltage. For some reasons my tbred can only get as high as 1.60v instead of all those crazy high voltage. Right now I'm running 10x166=1666(2000+) via 1.55v. So far so good.

I guess I'll settle with the 166x10. First, dont' want any abnormal bus speed to influence my PCI stuffs(sound card, network card, and IDE). UNLESS someone can point out that KT4V's PCI speed is fixed at 33MHz regardless what the bus speed is. Besides, default voltage ain't bad...:)

well, it's all original speed...I won't bother for Video card overclock since it's a MX440...:P Besides, KT400 chipset "officially" support 166MHz bus speed, which means that AGP/PCI speeds should remain at 66/33 MHz. Besides, I'm considering going back to my good old Matrox G400...2D is just...

well, I'm using a small program called "BCM" from my company to test it, and that one goes well. SisSanDra works, too. But 3DMark will terminate for some reasons...no error message, no reboot. Just...gone. I'll see if Q3A will get me any more problem.

hehe...with big finger-guy like me, connecting the bridge ain't an easy task I didn't do any bridge modification on that CPU. But the BIOS still allows me to adjust(somehow) the multiplier. Strange... Just tried everything again. 11x multiplier will ONLY work with 133Mhz bus speed. 10x can...
