Not at all. After living with the 2600k for 2 years, I wanted to see if anyone else
had a suspicion that the AMD was smoother. But I sure see you good at making
accusations. That makes you a troll yes?
I'm glad I started this thread. It confirms what I have suspected all along.
After reading this thread, I also noticed that every poster whom voiced their
experiences of AMD being smoother in day-to-day operation was met with
an onslaught of ridicule by people who went out of their way to...
I would describe it like this:
A muscle car goes 0-60 in 4 seconds but its a choppy raw acceleration while still fast.
A luxury sports car may do 0-60 in the same 4 seconds with a smoother acceleration.
Speed can be quick and still have "microstutter" as you refer to it. Microstutter seems...
Intel beats AMD on benchmarks. No dispute from me. But 2 years ago when I switched from an AMD X4 950 to an i7 2600k, I noticed the system wasn't as smooth or fluid feeling. Has anyone else suspected that while Intel is faster, the AMD seems to run more fluidly and smoother? I am thinking...
So if I count Sandforce drives out for reliability reasons, which drive is faster for OS
everyday usage?
Crucial C300 64GB
or
Intel X25-M 80GB
Thanks..
I was waiting for a G3 but Feb 2011 is too just far away.
Who makes the fastest "real world usage" SDD for an XP partition and various applications?
I was thinking one of these but I am not sure which is best:
X25-M G2 80GB
OCZ Vertex 2 60GB
Crucial C300 64GB
Has anyone A/B'd any of...
Like Emulex says, I think writes are the least of my worry. I plan to load the
drive up with XP SP3 and a bunch of applications and send all of my data to
an internal 2TB drive. Once loaded, the SDD will become a "read-only" boot
and application drive.
I've read too many complaints with...
Since Intel has wear-leveling utils, would the Intel X-25V for $115 be the best
under $150 SDD for XP users??
Also what do you mean by "make sure the partitions are aligned" ??
(I have never owned an SSD before)
Thanks..
For someone who refuses to leave XP, what is the fastest and least apt to
degrade in performance over time??
Since XP doesn't support TRIM, I need to get an SSD which will not lose all
its performance over time. I would be putting the XP and my Apps on this
drive and storing all my data...
Stoneburner:
I was leaning towards the PowerColor personally but I was wondering if
you could share your rational as to why it's better than the other 2 brands..
Thanks!

No one makes a lowprofile 4670 yet so that is not an option for my slimPC case.
I have a slimPC so I need a Low Profile Video Card.
I decided on ATI 4650 Chipset.
I have 3 choices: Powercolor Sapphire or Apollo
These are all on Newegg for about the same price.
There are lot's of reviews on the Sapphire but few on the other 2.
Has anyone bought any of these low...
