Thank god someone else can read between the lines, girl retrieved date after being harassed, date then came up with assholish comment for someone being an asshole. He's murdered and people cheer.
Kinda disappointed about the clocks, with the architecture these should be capable of like 1.8GHz at decent power consumption should they not, possible justify a 6-pin version.
In the GPU space cheaper/low powered cards were pretty bad performance/dollar, this is kinda changing because we now have low powered/expensive cards which are pretty decent in terms of performance, still in most cases buying a 400W bronze power supply and beefier GPU is smarter then relying on...
7950 boost, I think it's almost 3.5 years now, unfortunately in Canada at 300$ price point nothing nice ever comes up. I could have gotten a 290 but it's a little more power hungry then I like, the 1060 is 400$ so that will take a while to come down
And the battery life, if you have a premium SoC you have a premium battery, everything just got expensive, I suspect a cheap variant SoC based on Pascal 16nm FF, all it needs really is 720p30 of PS4/X1 titles since they will still be made along side new console titles.
I dont see them going the handheld plus console/dock, wouldn't they be able to stream to a smart TV with the handheld? then connect more controllers wireless to the handheld for multiplayer on a TV?
Hell beyond Sony all Japanese game development can't handle new console tech, this will give an avenue to a ton of developers that can't compete with the west on an exclusive platform.
I dont see a cellphone chip offering up much performance, but looking at pokemon go I see why this could be a brilliant move, right now parents have to offer up a freaking cell phone to a child to play pokemon, with this they might not need the cell contract. With it's own screen it keeps the...
I want to see how the chips progress, I was dead set on getting one, but if the issues get sorted the price will hopefully drop a bit as well I will likely get one.
Well even if that is the case why the hell did they send them out? If they can't even cherry pick cards for review samples the general public is screwed. Unless some of these are cherry picked and it's gonna get worse.
This probably the answer right here, they should have went to TSMC. This probably means Zen is done till this is fixed, since it's out of AMD's hands they can't release Zen. GF will probably kill AMD :(
I think my 7950B is more like 230-250ish watts, I was really hoping this card would be around 390X performance and at 150ish watts, seems to be 15% slower and close to 180W.
price is actually to high for me in Canada anyways seems to be >300 for the 8GB.
This is turning into a pretty poor card TBH, the power consumption is too high and the performance is too low, it's basically a price reduced 970 that seems to do way better in DX12. There so far behind pascal it gives me some pretty serious doubts what kinda chip vega will need to be mm wise...
Yeah a 1080 FE is almost 1K CDN$.
I need an upgrade from a 7950, AMD doesn't usually brutally rape Canadians like nVidia does so I'm hoping I can snag a 480 for under 260$ CDN taxes in, if not a 470 would be ok to.
I'm hoping Zen will be good for notebook, otherwise it will be dead in the water.
Only 2 markets seem to matter now and that's servers and mobile, so you need to make a mobile server chip.
AMD's prices in Canada have always been way better then nVidia's. Still very happy with my 7950B. I'd buy AMD CPU's if they were competitive but there not, don't look for any records just all out bang for buck.
I see it going the other way, consoles will likely drop X86 ASAP. With ARM they get like 3-4 vendors to bid between. On X86 there bascially always going to be using AMD, unless Intel takes less margins and get a better IGPU.
Well I think they did pretty poor with the Xbox exclusive I know there number were bad. They probably needed this cash injection until the PS4 launch which no one will probably care about now that it's old news.
My first rig I built (Rig 2 in sig) was my cheap machine just to practice building a rig and not have to worry about mistakes, I wish now after seeing how easy it all had been that I spent more money on it. It felt fast, but just not fast enough.
That said now Rig 1, I built was more then...
It's through the speakers the beep and yes nothing crashes and everything resumes normally.
And no gaming has never done it, only web browsing and downloading on something like steam.
And the PC is rig 1
This has been happening a bit lately to me, I'm honestly not sure what is causing it.
The best way I can describe it is when I'm on google chrome just browsing websites the computer will freeze for 1-3 seconds (mouse freezes, no response to keyboard inputs), then makes a single beep and goes...
What about just one of those powered air filter things, know a few people use them indoors to keep the cig smoke down, dunno if they actually work but it does seem to kinda. Have to keep them beside the ash tray though.
As someone in Canada the prices are getting really bad, but our loonie is tanking and the USD is high. That said however old my 7950 is now, 3+ years I believe, I actually can't get a card as fast as it for less then what I paid 3 years ago. So basically unless I'm spending 300+ it's pointless
I've been using a 212 evo on a 57$ MOBO for years with out a single issue, I kinda wish there were better sub 120 mm coolers for some itx cases though.
Reminds me of LoL, accidentally made an account on the KR server, kicked kicked SKT's butt in some random matches then uninstalled since it was too easy, now I realize I could have been a millionaire. Sigh....
