My friend has a dell desktop and we recently tried upgrading his ram from 2x512 sticks to 2x1gb mushkin 667 mhz ram. His dell operator told him that the motherboard supports up to DDR2-800 even though his sticks were 533.
Well, when we installed the new chips, the computer is making a weird...
Unfortuenetly, it doesn't give me that option.
I only have the install option.
I found out that a good chunk of the old stuff is stored in windows.old. I deleted all of it and I'm back up to 550/594 gb (it's a 640gb drive which makes that even more confusing).
My head hurts :(
Hello,
Long story short, I have been trying to do a fresh install of vista, but everytime I do it takes MORE of my hard drive space.
I looked up all the guides online and they just walk you through the basic steps, which I have been doing.
My windows vista x64 doesn't give me any...
Thanks guys, I decided on :

I just don't understand why it says wall installation ..?
Maybe you could clarify that for me brblx :)
Also, I already have an hdmi-hdmi cord for my ps3. If I buy an adapter ( like this : http://www.monoprice.com/produ...id=2029&seq=1&format=2 ) , will it work without a hitch?
And is it male to female I'm looking at ? considering the signal is coming from my computer and being routed into my TV ?
My video card (4870) only has dvi connectors and the back of my hdtv is hdmi. Any cheap solutions that will provide the best resolution without any sacrifice in quality ?
I checked best buy and the cords were 50-90 dollars and that just doesn't seem reasonable.
Thanks !

I was pissed when I first saw this thread, being as I just purchased a 955 for $245 a few days ago.
I called up Newegg and BAM they credited my account no questions asked.
Big ups to Newegg. I will never shop anywhere else.
So, I am looking to get into video editing. I want to eventually make professional style videos but I don't know where to start.
1. Should I go with Avid, Adobe, or some other brand (suggestions?)
2. Should I maybe start off with beginner software like adobe elements ? Will the tools I...
I read into it a bit and I found out the 4890's are hit or miss with the harmonic distortion.
After considering my options for awhile, I decided to just settle for a 9600gt for $60 and wait until the new breed of dx11 cards become affordable (assuming it is sometime next year).
I'd imagine...
I am kind of glad this happened, cause it forced me to realize that the dx10 platform is dying anyways. Why am I shelling out all this money when it will be paper weight material in a few months ...
I decided to go with a 1gig 9600gt instead for $65 and needless to say, I feel way better...
The way I look at it, mail in rebates are hardly ever worth it.
With all the time you spend writing/processing/following-up on the damn thing,. you've wasted enough of your time to not warrant the effort.
Not to mention how much stress they can cause. For $20 ... No thanks
Yes, but unfortuenetly I got so excited after finding this card that I went out and purchased everything under the sun to mathc this card. Now I am left sitting here for atleast another week and a half with a bunch of computer parts.
Not your fault, though ... I should have done my research...
Just got a message from ewiz. They are out of stock and it is in backorder, even though I made a lightning fast purchase. They said it could be in later this week.
Here's the link if you don't know about it off-hand :

I am trying to cut corners here ... I notice it does not support SLI, which is fine because I can only afford 1 card anyways
I just want to hear some input from some of...
FYI
The vapor also offers free shipping ...
However, I chose the toxic because I am not very tech saavy and it saves me the trouble of trying to OC the card myself.
Thanks again , Pjabber !!
I did some research and I found the technical term from the sound (which I think somebody mentioned earlier) is "Harmonic Distortion."
Is there a particular brand I should avoid in terms of avoiding this effect ? Someone suggested sapphire earlier in this thread but that seems to be the card...

Look at the way he grooves to his own masterpiece. He KNOWS he has stumbled upon greatness.
AMAZING
So I am in the market for a new Graphics card (amongst other things) ...
I have noticed that the 4890 not only has a loud vacuum sounding fan, but also that it emits a rather disturbing ringing noise that gives people migraines.
Well, I then decided to take a closer look at the 285gtx...
I am just going to assume you have problems fully expressing yourself in English.
So let me break it down in a way you might be able to understand :
Me pay 279.99. Me no likey pay so much. Me not rich. Deal for $129 and $199 no worky for me. Wish me could. Make me sad.
Will this have any immediate effects on either the price of the 955 black or i7 920 ?
I keep seeing people purchasing the i7 920 from anywhere to 129.99-199.99 and I just can't seem to pull the trigger knowing I would be paying outrageously higher, since I neither live in the vascinity of a...
I would really be interested in the 4890 if it wasn't so terribly loud.
Atleast that is what a number of reviews say. Even to the point where people are claiming they get migraine headaches from the squeeling it makes.
No thanks
