Well pine isn't known for quallity thats for sure.. That drive may be just as good as a plextor, I have no idea.

I found this drive is AOpen CDRW2440. It is reviewed here. I looks like I may have got a really good deal after all. I found a post by someone who has 2 systems basically the same as mine and has both the Lite On and the Pine and the Pine out performs the Lite On. I know this may not be true but...
I got this a few minutes ago for $99 plus tax. I have bought Pine products before and haven't had any problems. I went ahead and bought the extended service for $4, it extends it a year and also 90 day money back guarantee along with other features. This could be an Aopen Drive, not really sure...
yes really free, make a temporary email address at a free site and use it to activate the account and then abandon it. Yes, really free. The only cost maybe involved is the domain, I didn't say free domain I said free domain hosting.
The account is slightly limited but if all you need is a presence on the net, it's perfect. When you sign up you must recieve their newsletter that has advertisements but how many emails do you wipe out daily? I think it's well worth the time.

I had a couple that had reached their limit on refills and wouldn't work correctly anymore that I sent in. I refill mine also but after the third or fourth time of refilling they don't work anymore. For those who refill this might be worth it.
Well worth the $1.50 when most of the time new ones cost over $30 each. They limit you to one time but I'm sure we know at least one or two other people for different addresses.
