X25M-G2 Bench check & install (Vista)

I did about a dozen tests booting to the SSD, disabling my conventional 7200rpm HDD through device manager gave me a load time from "Windows loading" to desktop of 12 seconds, while having the 2nd drive enabled consistently took 22-23 seconds. It was definitely being accessed during the loading...

Is an SLC SSD worth it for the longevity?

Yeah $280 is bizarre, I paid $249 around 5:30pm, saw it briefly get adjusted to $255 after it went out of stock, then it bumped to $279 an hour later so I'm not sure it's all automatic scripts. I feel for those who missed out, I'd be smashing keyboards if I didn't get one today after barely...

Intel x25-m - Wait for G2 and installation?

I have a new computer arriving (August 21ish) with OEM Vista installed on a conventional 7200rpm platter, which I'll be adding a SSD to as boot drive. Is there any compelling reason not to wait for the x25-m G2? I have a free upgrade coupon for W7, so I'm obviously interested in TRIM support...
