I am Setsuna (jrpg for PC) - anyone getting this game?

pretty much this. looks interesting, but I have way to many games to play at the moment. I'll probably end up picking it up on console (I think I remember it getting a ps3 or ps3 release as well). Supposed to be fairly short for a jrpg throwback, is pretty much the only negative I've heard...

FF14 - worth playing or wait till FF15?

Did 12 or 13 even have main protaganists? 13-2 and 13-3 did, but 12 and 13 didn't really, and that was part (but only part) of their problems. I actually give 10's main character a break on his emo though. He actually has far more reason to be emo than pretty much any other ff14's protag...

Do you listen to spoken dialogue in games or skip through it?

Normally I just read the subtitles, and move on. Occasionally the voice acting is good enough for me to want to listen to it. But, thats pretty rare. As long as I can follow the game by reading whats written, and not listening, that's usually plenty.

Game levels you really hate playing?

either gta3 or vice city, can't remember - mission to fly a mini helicopter through a building, planting bombs, iirc. I hated flying the copters, mini or regular size. And this one was worse than usual, because you had construction workers coming after you. I think I took an extended break...

Someone explain the appeal of Final Fantasy to me

As mentioned above, if you wanted to try the tales games, I'd suggest Vesperia or Abyss as well, myself. The last few releases have been decent, but haven't been able to match those 2 games. They did release a hd port of Symphonia, which is considered to be one of the better Tales games...

Divinity Original Sin EE Pillars of Eternity Pretty much just these 2 Eventually I'll get around and buy/play Fallout 4, and I'm sure I'll enjoy it. But, since I haven't bought it yet, it doesn't count.

FF7 remake trailer

I was someone who was a proponent for keeping the turn based battle system. Updating it was fine, but I like turn based. I'm not so fond of action based. Thinking on it now, I'd still prefer something based off the old system. But, I do play and enjoy games with action-y type game play...

next big mmo?

I don't know how serious, or how tongue in cheek this post was, but sadly, I think it's probably true. The next "big" mmo, one that has a crazy amount of subscribers, will probably be a vr mmo. 2019 is probably an ambitious start date for something like that. I'm thinking 2025 :D

Well, somehow managed to get into the alpha test, so played alot last weekend. Enjoyed it. You can tell that the game was made several years ago, from the graphics. Still pretty, but kind of dated. The only bug I personally ran into was alt tabbing out and pulling up firefox, would crash...

From what numbers I saw, the game sold 1.5 million copies. But, probably 2.5 million copies (or more) remained unsold, and got shipped back to the manufacturer. Most games would be considered a commercial success if they sold that many games....well, thats if the company producing it didn't...

I've played games that I love, and other people hate. But, I can't think of any so bad, it's good. But, then again, there are very few movies I'd rate that way either, and it would be much easier for a movie, then it would be for a game to do it.

So what is the most played non-browser based MMO games these days?

I've played plenty of mmo's casually. It's not that hard. And, with todays duty finders, group finders, or whatever they are called in your game of choice, it's easier than ever. You could actually make an argument that mmo's are to casual now a days.

I should note - the dps q's can actually be quite short, depending on what time you play. I work mid to 8, so my usual play time is morning, early afternoon, and on my off days, middle of the night. When the roulettes (sp?) reset at 10am, my dps q times for those are generally less than 5...
