It has to be the white toothpaste, just your regular stuff. None of this special stuff, that's smoother. It needs to be "gritty".
I've cleaned/repaired probably hundreds of CD's this way like 10 years ago, it worked very well.
I'd suggest a new PSU. The CX series isn't a great series. It's not bad, but for what you're running (And with an OC), I'd upgrade to something a bit better.
Awesome of you to do!!
I wouldn't mind entering for any of them.
Plans:
One of my good friends is into PC gaming. He has a lower end computer, and can't afford any upgrades. He's married, with 4 kids, and works 2 jobs to pay the bills while he lets his wife stay home with the children...
It's because most people that hate it are stuck in the past and refuse to give anything another try. Norton is amazing now, but in the 2005ish days, it sucked. People just developed a hate for it then and will not admit that things can change.
You can also try hitting F8 at boot and enabling VGA mode. That will tell you if the video card got a setting changed, like the resolution or refresh rate.
It's almost got to be a Windows service or a driver. If it was hardware then you'd see problems outside of Windows as well. How does the system run is safe mode??
I know there was a firmware update release to Macs that infected the firmware on the keyboards for those. You had to get new keyboards, there was no fix.
Word. Get rid of the second card, unless you plan to do more than 2 displays. Even then you're better off buying a cheap ATI card for that too, as using ATI and Nvidia drivers could cause confilcts.
Anyone have a HDD from a series 2 Tivo?? Mine went bad and I can't find a way to get the Tivo image on a new HDD without paying for an upgrade kit...
I'm also looking for a P4 motherboard/CPU combo if anyone has one of those as well. Trying to build a PC for my little cousin and keep the cost...
