Replicating Attributes to Global Catalog in Active Directory

I'm trying to replicate a few attributes to the Global Catalog in Windows 2003 so that they'll appear under the Users and Computers MMC. I've gone through the Schema Manager MMC and checked "Replicate this attribute to the Global Catalog" then gone back to User and Computers > View > Advanced...

I should have mentioned before that this database and script combo are running perfectly together on another apache/mysql system, just can't get it to work here. i'll parse through the httpd.conf again, see if i've missed anything. Should i have to edit php.ini? I'm pretty sure that php4...

    php-mysql woes

I'm having trouble setting up my apache server to work properly. I finally got php supported but i can't get sql support. I've installed php-mysql but the scripts keep kicking out undefined functions on vaild statements. I used MySQL 3.23.49a, php-4.0.3, mod_php-4.0.3 and php-mysql-4.0.3...

Trouble using "ls" in root directory

I don't have a script, at least that i'm aware of... keep in mind this used to work. What happens is it takes a long time, never yeilding anything... so i ctrl+c it. I can access files in /, but if i didn't know there names, i would never be able to see them... I do run vnc, so i'll try...

    ATI TV Wonder + 2k / XP

I've installed the drivers and MMC and all works well. However, when I reboot and start the tv tuner again, the same initialization wizards pops up as if it were the first time i installed the MMC. I'm running XP now, but i remember having this same exact problem under 2k... just can't...

Trouble using "ls" in root directory

My housemates have been repeatedly pulling the plug on my linux server and now i can't use the ls command in /. Everything else appears to be alright, but i can't think of why ls would stop working in the root directory. I've tried it from several accounts, including root. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, I'll check on the Ethertalk status... I left work early, so I'm not infront of the machine anymore, but I'll edit the atalk.conf on monday... i do remember parsing through it though, only remember seeing comments, no parameters. I'll post back on monday once i'm able to mess with it...

I'm running Red Hat 7.2 as a testbed server. We predominately use Macintosh machines at work so our network consequently uses Appletlak / Appleshare. I've installed Netatalk and started the atalkd daemon, but still can't see my Linux machine on the network. I've even tried connected via IP...

Virtual network behind DHCP / Router

The network is layed out in two subnets, 27.x doesn't get internet and 28.x does. There are two offices with a VPN between them, my office unfortunately runs off the router / firewall at the other location... What I need to do is setup a DHCP server / router for my office but maintain these...

    Mandrake Linux 8.1 question

The login name / password it asked you to complete during the install was for your user account. You don't want to operate as root all the time, especially if you don't know linux that well. The root user in linux is more powerful then the admin in NT/2k, and it's never a good idea to operate...

    Scripting for Server

<< How are they able to create/modify the files? Is this all via a web interface? >> I imagine we'd just map the share and allow read/write perms as needed, that's how we do it now. The web interface would strictly be for administrative use. I don't need to create a web interface, but it's...

    Scripting for Server

I posted in OS awhile back, but now i have more info and need some advice. We're looking into new server solutions at work (currently run MacOS). We have a few testbeds at our disposal and our candidates are Windows 2k or Linux. I'm pushing for Linux, but regardless of which one is implement...

    Router in focus

Yes, most routers have a switch side to them so you can connect multiple machines, but switches don't broadcast. I don't think there's a way to do what you want. Why would you want to broadcast though?

    Creating a Web Interface

    Creating a Web Interface

well, the authentication isn't hard. If you use Apache just create a .htpasswd file. If you've written java scripts or plan to, then just include the method's into your html.

Can't format hard drive using FORMAT.COM in ME

When you fdisk'd the drive did you just delete the partition and fail to create a new one? Does format c: with no switches work? If so, you can use a 98 machine to make a 98 bootdisk then format c: /s or worst case scenario you format c: with no parameters and pick up some generic mscdex...

Because 9x/ME don't support various user level access it's impossible to do without the aid of third party support. Do you have a software firewall or hardware firewall? I use both RH 7.1 and Mandrake 8.1. Essentially they're the same, but mandrake really impressed me when i originally installed it (version 7.1). The distro's that i've installed have asked me for networking info (i.e. - gateway, subnet, ip) during the install and Mandrake has Drakconf which is a really easy to use, yet powerful, GUI for setting up anything (like control panel in windows). Of course it'd just be a matter of editing a...

    2 NICs = double bandiwdth

The problem with the 2 NIC = 2x Bandwidth theory is that appz like IE and MIRC won't split loads or equally divide bandwidth, nor do i know of software that does it for you. Those appz will run off one NIC, one IP. I'm not sure that you can even specify which NIC to use for things like that...
