I'm pretty out of date when it comes to good anti-spyware. I always went with Ad-Aware.

Weird. This may be a stupid question, but you did plug the monitor into the Radeon when you installed it, you didn't leave it in you Intel GMA slot, right? Maybe the graphics card is indeed faulty. But I would always reserve that option for last.

Disk read error on notebook.... need ot get data off

An easier option would be to just download a recent Linux Live CD, like Ubuntu, burn it on CD and boot from CD. Then you could try access the HD from Linux, it is from my experience more forgiving with hardware failure, as in.. it might not give an error during startup because it won't...

If you can install the 4650 without upgrade, chances are the 4670 will be fine as well. Get the latest Catalyst drivers directly from the ATI homepage, forget the Asus drivers. See if that works.

Old mobo can't see new SATA drive

NVidia Performance Tools troubles

From all the driver-switching I've been doing, apparently the Performance Tools broke. I removed them from the registry as good as I could, and removed the Program folder, but the uninstall item is still there. Now I can't uninstall the tools, nor use the installer to repair or overwrite...

What's this Pixel Error?

It was the newest driver, 190.62 that was giving me the issue. I reverted to 182.xx from the Leadtek CD and turned off Aero and Desktop Composition, and for now it seems the issue is gone. Now I'll try to use another non-Leadtek driver. 186.xx are supposed to be pretty good.

What's this Pixel Error?

Okay, I've nailed it down to Alt-Tab. It happened just now in Mass Effect, except that this time around it totally scrambled the screen in chunks of 4x4 pixels each, or something. It does really look like something was wrong with the hardware, but I'm starting to think this is just a driver...

Windows XP taking a long time to load

When my old XP took 5-10 minutes to load up instead of 15 seconds, it was because of the second SATA harddrive. I could hear a repeating sound as if something was spinning up and then going back to 0 repeatedly, that was the HD.

No video output

You'll have to give more details here... do you hear the fans spin up? Do you hear the Beep? Does it sound as if the CPU is working to start the OS?

What's this Pixel Error?

Thanks for the replies, guys. I did check the VRAM with BurnIn Test, like 10 cycles, and there were no errors shown. As to overheating, I'm using Nvidia Performance Tools to manually regulate the fan speed so it will reach 100% at only 80°c. It never gets that high, I could tell by the noise...
