Question Question about NVMe

Great! I thought it should be that way, but I haven't built a PC in 10 years! Hard to believe, but I've my 3570K has been overclocked from 3.4 Ghz to 4.1 Ghz for all 10 years. It can't handle the new games now.

Windows 7 64-bit - anyone using it on Ryzen 1000-series or Kaby or Coffee Lake?

It took a couple of days, but we got my son's 2700 Ryzen working with Win7. No problems once it is up and running, but several issues along the way. His hardware only had one PS/2 port which was a pain.

Actually, I meant that the "fix" or repair option on the Win 10 Install media didn't work. So now I'm going to use the process that you recommended to build or re-build the BootMgr from the command line.

Solved! PDF files are killing me

If you have 6 cores and 16 GB of RAM, I don't think hardware is your problem. Is PDF Pro from Adobe? I have had bad luck with Adobe's software. I finally switched over to Foxit Reader. It sounds like you are doing a lot more with it than I do.

That WiFi anecdote is a good example of things I need to think about! You mentioned USB-C. It seems so much better than the older USB that I assume I'll have to have it for the new build. A lot of peripherals don't need even USB2 or 3.

Thanks for the help guys! I knew it should be pretty easy for someone who knew what they were doing. I did turn off DHCP in Tomato. I also had to change my WAN setting from STATIC to DISABLED in addition to moving the cable from WAN to LAN.
