Honestly I think some people just have one issue that is their personal pet issue (abortion, guns, etc etc) and they'll ride and die with anyone who supports it. These people tend to be conservatives. It's a silly way to vote but its also silly we have our government structured in such a way...
I upgraded to a 5g phone more than 7 or 8 years ago. Phones are not that expensive and can be bought used/refurbished etc etc. I mean at this point it's kind of within their right to start making people adopt the newer technologies so they don't have to upkeep the older stuff.
"One of those justices, Charles Canady, is a former Republican congressman who sponsored legislation to outlaw abortions later in pregnancy. His wife, state Rep. Jennifer Canady (R), co-sponsored the six-week abortion ban."
Seems a clear conflict of interest here... guy should have abstained.
Hard to see how its too his advantage. His position has been generally weakening since the Ukraine invasion and now this act of domestic terrorism may
1) undercut the narrative of putin being a good protector of the people
2) make him direct resources from the Ukraine war to fighting ISIS in...
Yeah but I'd think that state laws cannot directly conflict with federal laws otherwise they are unconstitutional. This seems a direct conflict with constitutionally mandated US census law.
I would think this whole thing will eventually get tossed in Federal court somewhere as this ruling seems to conflict with US laws/policies about personhood. If alabama's ruling stands, then the US census is wrong and Alabama could also argue for more federal dollars because of uncounted embryo's.
Yeah but why does that matter?
If an underpaid elementary school teacher has an OF page, why does it matter (to the parents)? The kids shouldn't be looking at it anyway as its illegal for them and it in no way affects what happens in the classroom. OF is not illegal and its subsidizing stuff...
Yeah no.
I understand the point you're trying to raise but its not as simple as "man is an alpha and thus all women want him". It fails for example to explain the widespread sex appeal of guys like Drake and Justin Bieber and etc. If you took the worlds most handsome man (this year its a Korean...
There's definitely some truth to this. Women are doing better than ever. This leads to higher standards for mates and exclusion of more and more males from the dating market as female mate selection preferences and behaviors have not changed. This leads to more male frustration and ultimately...
Hamas doesn't represent the people and hasn't for sometime. The election of Hamas was in 2006 and they were unpopular prior to recent events. Even in 2006 they won with a plurality largely against another group thought to be corrupt.
Furthermore hamas' existence is largely the creation of...
I find it crazy how butt ugly a guy can be and women will still bang him/marry him if he has enough cash. She's actually like reasonably attractive for a crazy person and he looks like if bucket of piss drank too much and threw up on itself.
On private college campuses btw. I mean harvard, penn, MIT are private schools... think about all the crazy stuff taught on christian campuses that no one bats an eye at.
I don't think so. This seems like a straightforward violation of federal law. You can't pass a state law that regulates interstate commerce. Healthcare procedures in other states is interstate commerce. It'd be like texas banning someone from traveling to get a colonoscopy in NJ.
I read the...
As you state, it's standard of care to offer an abortion when chemo is being given as chemo causes major developmental problems. Most chemotherapy is actually so bad that often they will offer egg harvesting as well so the woman can have a child in the future potentially. If you're in a state...
Of course I practice medicine. I've transferred many patients out of state mostly for various organ transplant services. I've also received many patients from out of state hospitals for similar reasons. I've done this both in my current state and in completely different regions of the country...
It's not that hard. It's mostly a matter of stating a case that a service is necessary and can't be done at your facility with the other facility being the closest that can based on the situation. If the case is clear, physicians will not refuse and you simply wait for a bed and the insurance...
Agree fully. The woman's been through enough. Society doesn't win by prosecuting this.
I also think the spirit of the "abuse of a corpse" law doesn't really encompass expelled tissue from uterus.
Huh? No that's crazy.
Abortions are illegal in Texas but legal elsewhere. The Texas law assistance law doesn't apply to out of state procedures. Essentially you cannot regulate out of state commerce and activities with state law. That's a violation of federal law. That's like Texas passing a law...
One thing I don't understand is why the patient can't be admitted and transferred out of state for the necessary procedure. This happens with other procedures.
(I fully support abortion access without any limitations or qualifications btw)
I don't think they have a risky job. There are way more risky jobs out there when it comes to dying. There are also way more jobs that are 'tough'

Police officer isn't even in the top 25. Your...
Who do you know that is a notable person that was homeschooled? Everyone I know who was homeschooled kind of turned out as a loser or a downer to be honest.
It's actually extremely hard to find nonbiased data on homeschooling outcomes. Doesn't seem like a lot of people are studying it. This is...
Aren't there also a record number of Americans alive right now? And record inflation? Seems to me like per capita numbers are what we need to see
Also I spent about a thousand dollars on black Friday and will probably return half of it. Lol
Your post was pretty difficult to understand. It didn't make any sense.
My point is that it's way easier to regulate a trackable material good than it is trying to make sure all Americans have sane thoughts all the time and don't go on shooting rampages (ie trying to treat all the mental...
Yes it was 4.9%, yet the fed did not raise interest rates which is quite telling. The 4.9% growth is being concentrated in a very small group of hands and is not being felt by the average consumer.
I can't say I'm too concerned. If you look at every major metro center in the US, almost all of them would report issues with cop recruiting. Eventually the laws of supply and demand amongst other market reverberations should fix the market.
I also think the association with number of police...
Average individual american is carrying around 6000 in credit card debt at any given time is my understanding. Most of it is not paid off monthly. We are a nation of debtors.
There are also other markers that things are going so well right now. Credit card delinquency is rising. Personal...
Other places have mentally ill people too. Mentally ill people have been around since the start of time. It's not an explanation for current gun violence levels in the US particularly relative to other similarly developed countries. It also creates an impossible target for improving the...
Why we need two Carolinas as well is beyond me.
California could be broken up in 3 states fairly reasonably but agree just add DC and Puerto Rico/guam/Samoa (as one state) and call it a day.
