I should point out that buyer will receive ZERO help/support from Viewsonic. I have one, and as far as hardware is concerned I think it's alright. But as far as after-sale support from Viewsonic... I would only characterize them as "took the money and ran."
given that LED is low voltage device, there surely is a step down transformer somewhere? if that is the case, are the inefficiencies of the transformer also factored in?
with Transformer Prime being a certainty, yeah Asus is now dumping inventory. X1 is identical to A1, different part number is a "Best Buy Exclusive" to prevent price matching.
To be fair, people having problems with the unit is more likely to complain. People without problems probably don't even bother to post product reviews.

assuming Wikipedia is correct, there had been three different chips (G86, G98GS and GT218) marketed as 8400GS. I think G98GS (DDR2) and GT218 (DDR3) have enough hardware acceleration features to playback hi-def content on even P3 class machines.
