Win2k3 Corrupted my FAT32 Partition (sort of)

All the root folders and files on the drive are fine under Win98, but then if you go deeper (by 1 or two levels) then all the folders and files appear corrupted. The partition I'm having trouble with is actually before the NTFS partition. See the link for a photo of my drive setup...

Win2k3 Corrupted my FAT32 Partition (sort of)

No ideas on this? I was wondering if Win2k3 automatically compressed files on FAT32 partitions, or if it did something else to corrupt the file names and file sizes.

Win2k3 Corrupted my FAT32 Partition (sort of)

ICMP Appears to Work, not TCP/IP (WinXP Home)

I booted up with Knoppix, and everthing worked great. Rules out hardware. I ran Spybot S&D, and rebuilt the TCP/IP stack, but it is still not working. Unless I get further suggestions, I suppose a reinstall of XP is in order (although I hate to do it). Thanks

The port is okay, as another computer works fine plugged into it. I'll try Knoppix tomorrow. I've tried both from IE and FTP from the cli, as well as AIM. I made sure there were no options in IE. IE gives me a "Cannot find server" error page. Thanks for all the suggestions, maybe Knoppix...

Thanks for the correction there on UDP/ICMP. A tracert resolves the domain to an IP, and then gets a series "Request timed out." Except for 24.54.223.197 (one of Adelphia's routers/servers), which gets ~15ms. I get the exact same result if I do a tracert from this computer (on the same network...

A newbie question: how could I test the PSU in my case?

I assume it's ATX, and with those the fan won't start if you just plug it in (giving you an audible notification that it is working to some extent). Really the only way to test it is to hook it up to a MB and all that, or to use a voltmeter to check the individual connections for 12V/5V/-5V/etc.

problem with HD??

Why do you need to see that the BIOS detects the drive? Are you trying to change settings on the HDD? If all you're trying to do is install W2k, then it doesn't seem like there's a problem.

PC freezes every few seconds

How long for domain ownership to transfer?

I tried calling Network Solutions, but the rep said she couldn't tell me anything without the account password. She said I either needed to ask him or get the password. I guess I'll have to file a domain name dispute resolution if nothing happens soon.

Err, I tried with both. Probably what I should have done is to try without installing AOL. What kind of problems can(can't) AOL cause? If it is crap AOL6, is there any thing to do, besides dropping the service? My aunt would not be happy with that... Thanks by the way

Modem/DUN on Presario 1235 - only works once after reinstall, then stops functioning

I have reinstalled the Win98SE twice, and both times I could connect once, and then after reboot it wouldn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the modem, checked the interrupt and memory settings, etc.

Yeah, what the subject said. :) My aunts laptop is acting screwy. It is a Compaq Presario 1235. One day she started getting errors in AOL6 when trying to connect. It gave an error saying basically that the modem could not be contacted/initialized. Under regular Win98SE DUN it gave this error...

Cable Modem Upload Speed

I get 500/250 on my cable. $40 a month. Did support two simultaneous connections of 22kB and 24kB, so sometimes greater than 250kb.
