PC Anywhere or Terminal server?

Question on Pioneer Slot load DVD's.

Yes. Well, for DVD's they are fine since it's spinning at a lower speed, as well as audio-cd's. But they are kinda noisy for regular cd-rom usage. The Pioneer tray loading models on the otherhand are quiet.

Norton Antivirus under Win2k

It doesn't slow anything down. I have run it on both a P3 500 and an Athlon 950 under Win2k Pro and Advanced Server on the P3 500, and it doesn't slow anything down really. The only time I disable it is when I play games because I'm sure I'll get another 1/1000th of a performance increase.

FreeBSD Question

Just stick that line, /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start in your /etc/rc.conf file. Anything you put in there will be started when you start up the computer as long as it doesn't need user interaction to start.

Section of monitor is...BLURRED?!?!

I have the same problems with my soon to be RMA'ed Viewsonic 19" P95f. Try adjusting other thigns, such as convergence and focus; and less likely but still maybe a problem is moire or vertical linearity. I know on my monitor I can adjust almost all settings for quaters of the screen, so...

Looking for an ISP - Standard DUN with no idle disconnects?

Just make sure they aren't an ISP that disconnects you after a few hours (even if the connection IS NOT idle). Because there wont' be much of a way to stop this.

How to activate Windows 98 Screen Saver with 1 click?

Just search for the screensaver, it should be in like C:\Windows\System, they are all named with a .scr extension. You can make a shortcut to it on the desktop and just click on that and it will start the screensaver.

Aureal Vortex2 SQ2500 recommendations?

From using both a SB Live! X-Gamer and an Aureal SuperQuad for about the same timespan, I would have to say A3D sounds better than EAX. Of course, the whole reason it would sound better is that A3D is far supeior in design and complexity than EAX.

can win2k do 3d sound?

From what I've read around the net it is possible to get A3D to work properly with a Vortex 2 in Win2k, but it's a real PIA. I think I may have seen something about this @ vortexofsound.com.

ISA slots - why do they still exist?

Noriaki beat me to it. I was gonna say that while some may not have ISA slots in their computers or see a need for them, a lot of devices still run on the ISA bus even if there are no ISA slots are on the motherboard.

1-800-SOS-APPLE I've worked with Mac's before but never really doing anything such as installing devices on them. I believe from what I've been told Apple offers lifetime support, and that number is what you can reach them at.

UNIX format and install windows help....

It should work fine. I had used the builtin fdisk with the installation of Windows 2000 Server to get rid of FreeBSD (I know, I know, I like FreeBSD 1000x better than Windows, but I had to study for MCSE tests). So I would assume the MS fdisk will work fine for you.

As I understand it from my use of C so far, the .h file is a header file and the .c is what would be compiled as an object to later be linked. So, in the netshape.c it should read: #include <stdio.h> #include "netshape.h" as the preprocessor directives as well as anyother libraries...
