Definitely held back by the poor motherboard (4+1 QQ). Couldn't afford better at the time.
I've been using Steam in-home streaming a bit. It was completely un-playable even at 720p low quality over 5GHz WiFi N. I purchased a 100' network cable and ran it along the ceiling for gigabit LAN and streaming now works happily at 1080p "balanced" settings.
I was going to link this exact article and add the caveat that while the test conditions look like they were setup very carefully, with only one test of each application method the variance from human error could easily account for the differences.
I used a "grain of rice" of Arctic Silver 3...
1. Pumpkin is delicious.
2. There is an overabundance of pumpkin at this time of year.
3. Pumpkin spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger) are also delicious.
I'd never tell the difference listening on my cell phone with $10 earbuds.
Not going to spend any more on earbuds that wind up in the washer on average twice per year.
I use the Canadian equivalent Clearly Contacts. Since I have good coverage from work I get transitions lenses with all the coatings and I can afford 2-3 pairs every two years before any money comes out of pocket.
FX-8310@4.2 & R9 290
Upgraded through Windows Update, reinstalled drivers, no issues.
Small performance improvement in synthetic benchmarks, no noticeable difference in-game.
As best I can tell this is only an issue in games that recognize both the native DS4 controller and the emulated XBox controller and provide no way to select between them. Closing DS4Windows in such games seems to fix the problem.
I was playing KOTOR2 and was pleasantly surprised to see...
On Windows 7 and earlier it's necessary to install Microsoft's Xbox drivers. They're included in Windows 8+ but the fact that M$ pre-installed the necessary software is really splitting hairs.
A. The galaxy is so tolerant that it's simply a non-issue that nobody brings up. The 2½ relationships we witness on-screen just happen to be heterosexual.
B. All sorts of racist, sexist and xenophobic organizations have ruled the galaxy at points, maybe some of them were homophobic as well and...
I've only interacted with very domesticated dairy cows that are publicly accessible at a dairy farm and very used to getting petted. They're huge and the mechanics of killing one are inconceivable.
Are you asking if hunger is "a bad thing" or if hunger without exercise is more severe?
I vastly prefer to get a lot of cardio exercise to create a deficit because I feel better, I can get faster results and get to eat more things at the same time.
Hunger itself isn't "bad" - it's kind of an...
This test is more consistent with my own experiences. Get 60fps most of the time, might get less but still playable fps with multiple things exploding on-screen. Very high or Ultra settings.

Can and did. My HTC one M7 is 2 years old and the battery still lasts two days of typical usage.
Also have a 2nd gen iPod touch kicking around the house that still works. If I bother to charge it it holds a charge in standby for weeks at least.
More space shooters is great but the whole point of the X-Wing series is to fly the iconic Star Wars ships.
If the flight engine is all setup to simulate the definitely non-newtonian X-Wing physics and the game mechanics are the same then I guess he could get away with the Star Wars ships being...
You could buy three or four computers that run Minecraft just fine with $1000.
Not even kidding basically any APU + 4GB RAM is more than sufficient and dirt cheap.
No, people are buying AMD 8-cores at price points where the Intel options are dual-core. The money saved can go toward improving other components.
As to the topic at hand, Intel feel no pressure to innovate right now and would rather put any cost savings into increasing profits. Until a...
I've paid retail twice for this game on PS3 and PC, considered completely worth it if you enjoy GTA Online. I've got enough hours out of this game and still playing.
Finished single player on PS3, once is enough.
The QR skewer folding back more than 180º and getting in to the disc brake is really, really bad but if your QR is open while riding you're probably in for a bad time already.
I have one with carbon fibre inlay that is about one year old. The tungsten part is basically indestructible of course. The inlay is perfectly flush with the tungsten surface and isn't separating or anything, but it is susceptible to scratching.
If I were buying again I'd just get a plain...
Pretty sure with 8+GB of system memory and 2+TB hard drives storing the necessary information isn't a concern. From a gameplay perspective a lot of games would benefit from persistence and a lot would not.
Built of course. I've built each of my gaming machines, usually on an incredibly restrictive budget.
This year's upgrade:
FX-8310 @ 4.0/4.8GHz
Hyper 212 EVO
GA-970-DS3P
16GB DDR3 1600 9-9-9-24
ASUS Radeon R9 290 DirectCuII
Kingston SSDNow! 120GB
Optical and mechanical HDDs, case, PSU, monitor...
Over the holidays I got a new system on a really restrictive budget. AMD FX-8310 OEM + Hyper 212 EVO for a combined cost of $135CAD. OC'ed to 4.0/4.8GHz running cool.
Took my savings and put them toward a better video card, R9 290. I think I got a better overall system than had I spend $200+ on...
Dell = 60fps
Trinity = 600fps
i3 Haswell = 6000fps
I might be exaggerating or not who knows. The point is Minecraft is not a demanding game. I used to play on a Pentium E5400 with 4GB RAM and an NVidia 210 512MB all running under Linux. There's no practical difference compared to my actual...
