Async in JavaScript - need to stuff everything into a callback?

+1 for promises. Callback based code gets really messy pretty quickly. You can use q like brian suggested, you can also check out bluebird (I use this): https://github.com/petkaantonov/bluebird

OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W - any good?

I have read that ModXstreams have ripple issues, dont know if they are really a big issue, but for the price its a really good offer !

Large screen laptop in the $800 range?

hey mate, check out this one: HP G71-340US Scroll down to read the review. Its just $550 and has a nice high resolution 17.3" screen. It weighs less too.

Corsair HX450W enough for this i5 build?

Hmm, but i got friends who have a 955 and a 4870 on that PSU, they say it was stable, you have calculated the Peak wattage of the system right ? Is this method even reliable to estimate the power consumption of the PC, never seen 400+W in a single review out there (which has 1 card ie).

For games like warcraft 3, he will not need a 4670. Just stay with onboard...a 4200IGP should be fine...
