Blanking but before hd4800, think I had a 9600pro or 9700pro. Some 3dfx and some low lvl nvidia before that. HD died after around 6 years and got a gtx 770 that was ok except for 1 driver that caused bsods if I remember correct but also im not updating every month. It did need a program for...
Dunno, it was one of first sapphire refrence cards got in like late 2017 i think. edit: november first for msrp used till feb.2020. It kinda worked after figuring out why it randomly bsoded after 1-2weeks of uptime while doing nothing. Solution was found on their amd forum because others had the...
Im sure its been mentioned but for me drivers definitely. Try owning a vega 56 ref for 3 years and all these amd stock holders downplaying the problems of bsods, blackscreens, stuttering video when a game running. This weird random bsod after a long uptime that needed the vram be clocked at...
They should have at least 1 per a couple. This was a feature back in like 2014 :)
One Fuse per USB Port

So its possible that a bad adapter could send more than 5v or whatever to usb on pc but then the usb ports on pc should have fuses too i think? Mine didnt break the modem, died of lightning a year later + motherboard.
Did have an adapter around 13 years old for modem leak and die so jerry rigged a wd my book adapter to work with it. It was doing interference for all electrics on that circuit, coming thru speakers even, that scared me all the sudden. edit: and monitor maybe picture fuzzy or misremembering

Had a some LC 500w a long time ago with fan failing, frying it and it was not very old at all :)
Didnt measure exactly but think its somewhere between 80-100w according to ups usage %. Probably gonna wait a couple of years for atx3.0 psus to mature and get one for main computer. Did look...
Got this Corsair HX1000W from oct.2008 thats been offline max 1 year.
Its in a nas since 2020 and im a little worried it would cut power only to a couple of hdds instead of all if it goes.
Did clean it in 2020 inside and there was no observable bulging of capacitors.
How did ur old psus fail?
Believe me If there was money I would just run a server or nas of 16TB ssds.
Just cant remember any of the other drives going down to 50% in speed. Probably because not all have that drastic of a drop. Maybe they can add a platter or have space left on a platters then restrict some part of the...
It appears that is the cause, thanks guys.
So I tried to copy files that were first copied on the disk and the read speed is as it should be 170+.
I read that before about how speed can be different depending on where data is located on the platters but didnt expect a 45% 50% write/read...
HDTune and ATTo tests. Real world copying also seem to reflect crystaldiskmark tests, when I got the disk it was copying files at 160-170MB/s then it dropped to 130MB/s and now its at 90MB/s.
Any idea what this is?
