Okay so I tried to check things out again. I am assuming I have to turn on EyeFinity for this? The Triple Screen app does not show if I do not....and I'm trying to avoid eyefinity because I can't get the correct resolution.
Okay, I'm just going to copy and paste what I asked on Reddit regarding triple monitors in Asseto Corsa/Sim Racing.
"Hello everyone. I'm not sure if it's this specific game or not, but I cannot for the life of me get triple monitors to work properly. I have 3 identical monitors with 3 identical...
Yeah, makes sense guys. I'm so outdated in terms of hardware knowledge now, time to relearn!
Also, random note, I did hear that the new nVidia GPUs were prematurely dying/wearing out? Is that true?
Updated original post. I plan on playing iRacing which people have said runs ok at reasonable resolutions on a 1660ti. I am really trying to avoid spending some serious coin on a GPU but it looks like I have no choice.
It's been a VERY long time since I've built a computer. Is running triple monitors smoothly possible on this graphics card (with reasonable settings/resolution)? I've never actually had a muiltiple monitor setup before so I don't even know how the plugs would go. Would I be buying multiple...
Hello everyone. I am thinking of upgrading my 7+ year old computer (that I built with free/spare parts) and getting something modern. I want to do sim racing (iRacing/Assetto Corsa etc) and I'm probably going to have 3 monitors and possibly an Oculus Rift (not sure if this effects my hardware...
You know, my lack of knowledge of external AC adapters is probably what caused the confusion in this post. I was under the assumption they were all super low wattage values.
I just want a desktop that can stay on 24/7 because I want to use this for a home security system and nothing else. I...
Hello everyone. My main question is the following: Would it be better to build or just buy a premade PC for this usage?
My goal is to have the most power in a computer that can use an AC Adapter instead of an actual power supply, and I want it to have a very small form factor and minimal sound...
Really informative post! The reason why I want the fastest card that doesn't need additional power is because if I'm going to build a new system, I want it to be quiet, power efficient, yet still okay for some not-so-intense hardware requirement games. I haven't found too many games that are new...
Hello everyone. Due to getting older, being busier with life, and putting gaming as less of a priority, I've been gone for quite awhile. I was mostly active during the bulldozer era (which is basically forever ago). I'm going for the cheapest possible upgrade, best bang for buck to play a few...
There's a difference to me if you have a powerful rig that consumes lots of power, and a powerful rig that can consume even MORE power. People go with ridiculously high voltage overclocks that increase power consumption even more for such little benefit, etc. Then there's the whole AMD vs Intel...
Hello everyone. I'm simply wondering if using Windowed mode is less taxing on the GPU and more taxing on the GPU (a trade off). I have a desktop with integrated graphics, but a good CPU (Intel i5) and I'm just playing simple games like League of Legends.
Couldn't find the answer anywhere on...
Hello everyone...I've been on my mechanical keyboard for awhile and I have to say, I recently got a free dell keyboard:
http://accessories.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=biz&cs=555&sku=331-2249
and I love how it sits and feels. It's much easier to play certain games with it...
Hi everyone. I'm trying to build a DIRT CHEAP computer and I'm stuck between the AMD 6570 and 6670. Is it worth going from the AMD 6570 (DDR3) --> AMD 6670 (DDR3) --> AMD 6670 (GDDR5)? Which one is the best bang for the buck?
Yeah I realize that the only benefit of the newer hardware is that laptops become much better....because they have always been behind the curve (literally, and figuratively)
Honestly, even as someone who buys/supports AMD, the only reason it seems like AMD is catching up and Intel has plateaued is because Intel is getting to the point where it's hard to improve on something that's already so good, while AMD has a long ways to go. It'll be interesting though if AMD...
Hi everyone. I'm pretty knowledgable IMO when it comes to basic desktop/laptop hardware and software etc, but I've never looked into the mobile gadget sector. I'm due for an upgrade from Verizon soon, and I want to upgrade my phone to a smartphone. Right now, I have one of those free phones that...
The partially locked thing doesn't bother me too much. These processors typically hit ~130 Bus Speed, which puts them at 3770 GHz. Being one multiplier higher by default, and adding 5 more multipliers puts them at +0.6 GHz....or 4370 GHz. If you're lucky enough to get even higher on the bus...
Probably all of the crappy Bulldozer chips that couldn't hit the targeted clockspeeds are these Phenoms....lol. Clever. The people who don't know any better will see "Phenom II X8" and buy them because of everyone saying NOT to buy Bulldozer.
Lab burst mode + OCing was proven to be a fake way to increase performance.....if you do the typical 133 FSB and +5x multiplier, the highest frequency you can typically get with adequate cooling would be 4.357 GHz. lol. Not bad.
This is an LGA 775 motherboard that accepts the P4, if that means anything. Anyways, I'll try your suggestion....everything is set to default but I'll try to see if any of them are causing problems.
Also, it's a normal PCI-e slot, not an AGP slot. It's pretty much a remotely modern computer...
Hi everyone. Sorry for the vague/weird title. Basically, a Shuttle XPC I built (LGA 775 based) was working completely fine for awhile through the various setups, and now it is having a weird problem. When I press the power button, you can hear the computer turning on but the monitor does not...
I used to use LGA 775 until I ditched desktops completely. LGA 775 is still awesome, especially if you've got a nicely OC'd Quad Core. Most real bottlenecks in newer games are GPU bound anyway.
1. It's going to be replaced soon by the unlocked version (unlocked multiplier)
2. There is an Anandtech or some sort of article about this, but ideally, you want good timings and at least 1600 MHz speed.
3. Yes, it is. It gets overclocked through the System Bus, similar to the CPU speed. But...
It's basically the Deneb Quad Core that has a better IMC and better overclockability. Keep in mind, there is a chance you can unlock it too, so it can become the Thuban Hex Core we all know and love.
I'm unsure of the stock heat sink. Back when I heard/knew about these, they were OEM only. It...
As of now, typical OCs on "reasonable" voltages are around 3.7 GHz, but this is also overclocking the memory and GPU along with the CPU. Also, the high system bus could be messing with stability which is why it peaks at around this frequency. If the system bus is really what's stopping the OC...
