Looking at SCSI raid adapters for a web server. I need some help finding the right one, is there someplace like scsiraidadapterreview.com or something that I can use to get started.

Well, it does make coasters. Not tons, but probably 1 of 6 has some glitchy wierdness on it. The speed isn't really a huge deal for me time wise, but the fact that its an 8x burner that only burns at 4x irks the hell out of me (granted I have an 8x because I RMA'd an old 4x and they didn't...

I've got about $200 for an upgrade and i'm torn between a new processor and a new burner. Looking for opinions to help sway me.
I'm leaning towards the burner: The iomega I have is a piece of junk, it won't ever burn on 8x and it won't burn 80min cds and it sure has hell doesn't have burnproof...
I laughed a lot when I got the call, but I now I need to know the answer! I don't really have an extra mainboard I'd be willing to sacrfice to the cause (if it would cause a problem). Surely there must be some engineer here who knows about these kind of things.

I had a friend (who has more then a basic understand about computers), but usually looks to be for more advanced advice ask a question tonight that I couldn't answer.
"If you attach 2 IDE connectors to the motherboard and the other to the hard drive, can you fry your motherboard...

Got one of these in the mail yesterday. Here is my 10 second review.
1) Wow heavy
2) Clip went on by hand (cheer) and seems pretty stable.
3) Comes with a packet of artic silver
4) MUCH quieter then the GlobalWin WBK38 that I replaced
5) Performs better then the...
I think some of the above points are well stated:
1) If you need a full upgrade, why not go DDR?
2) If you are just 'thinking' or have top notch SDRAM on hand, I would wait.
I got to a point just recently where I felt I needed an upgrade. I already had some high quality PC133 on hand, so...
I have one on Windows 2k Server w/2cpu's and its the most compatible sound card I've used (SB Live! and Phillips AE both game me troubles).
Sounds great!

Soundblaster and SMP don't seem to mix well (I've read)
Phillips Accoustic Edge and SMP don't mix well together (I learned)
Santa Cruz and SMP seem pretty good so far (2 weeks and running)

I opened fire with the laser cannon and plowed past them into the courtyard on the other side. Then ran accross backwards pumping grenades into the masses till they all died. Hrm, not sure why I never thought of rocket jumping.
I just ditched my AWE64 as I found the sound to be really unclear when doing voice editing (I had never done voice editing before and it was never a problem). I switched to a Phillips Accoustic Edge and now the clarity is great (sounds great playing UT also)

Its wild to see all the conflicting tales of the Kenwood Drive. I have a 72x true and frankly I love it... its fast as hell. I've not had problem reading CD-R media (even the cheap ass stuff I've been using) and the DAE is amazing (I average close to 40X).
I heard the Iomega's are just remarked Plextor, and I can tell you from personal experience Iomega's customer service is pretty damn good if you ever have a problem.
Adam.
I have to agree with StanG on this. I found the 2D quaility to be very good actually, better then the 2 Geforce cards I own. The 3D is fine with Win9X/ME and the latest drivers. Windows 2000 is a diffrent story thou, the drivers suck in a major way.
