The fact that upping the voltage fixes the issue sounds to me like your chip may have degraded... 1.35 volts is a little on the high side for 22nm, not that others don't run it, but you are taking a chance and perhaps your luck in the chip lottery ran out in this case.

As Makaveli said, many of those features you list, in reality have no impact on performance. You're points on only being competitive on some workloads is valid. For me, it just happens to be fairly competitive on the workloads I care about. (Video Encoding & BF4)

Just wanted to chime in and say that the latest patch has mostly fixed the lag spikes on my R9 270 (Basically a 7870) and it is now playable. There are still on occation some hiccups I think are attributable to the mantle driver but this is a huge improvement.

I'm running a 270 (Basically a 7870) and I get a bad stutter every 5-10 seconds. The frame latency in between those stutters is notably better, but the game is basically unplayable in Mantle mode for now on this card.
Here's hoping they can work out the kinks sometime soon.
I understand the idea behind having a repeatable test and it would be nice if BF4 supported a bot mode for testing, but I don't care about single player performance and I suspect most people who play the game feel the same way.

I think my chip's a bit of a dud, as in order to run 200x18 stable with HyperThreading on I need CPU voltage set to 1.35 in the BIOS.
If I disable HyperThreading , I can boot and run some benchmarks with 1.25, and I noticed that the full load from Cinebench only throttles to 200x17 (3.4Ghz)...

When I enable full turbo mode and speed step, I find my system isn't stable at 200 BLCK or above. Also I still see throttling down to 16x multiplier under full load. So the only benifit is up the additional 2 turbo bins up to 20x, but I have to lower BLCK to 190 so...
Hi Aurkitu, which ASUS Motherboard do you have? I have the plain ASUS P6T.
When I set CPU ratio setting: Auto, I lose the ability to specify CPU BCLK.
Based on my research the P6T line has an issue with turbo throttling when the cpu exceeds TDP limits. I'm guessing this CPU with it's low...
