I installed the default manually from the CD and it shows up in Device Manager as installed and functioning but it doesn't show in sound control panel as having any device selected to play sounds and no mixer detected and when trying to play something it says no sound card installed.
But it...
update it appears that if i uninstall the codec and then let XP pick it up automatically on reboot I can then play sound etc but I don't get the Realtek Sound Manager program installed so then if i go into the installation cd and select setup from within the audio/realtek directory it will...
I just got one installed the codec for the onboard sound from the mobo CD but so far no sound. If I try to play anything basically no mixer is detected or selected and if i click on Sound Manager nothing happens.
Also checking sound manager directory it is empty.
OMG SO annoying!
any ideas...
wow I love that thin bezel I'm hopefully going to bastardize this concept and get an LCD and have it with my 19inch CRT in dual display. I think that could work out nicely.
Just wondering consider Evan said his MSI review had been done for quite a while but there haven't been any further reviews on anything it seems since the Opteron 4 parter.
What's in the works guys?
Definitely and if you read the article the game designers really have their heads screwed on straight. Everything is in service to the game and making the game more and more an immersive Experience.
To these guys its all about game design and that is probably the best thing about them.
9xxx Mods for Radeons
check that thread out it has all the information on modding the Radeon's and which ones you can mod and which ones you can't etc.
I'm trying to get it stickied as it would solve a lot of questions.
monitors do blow up
I knew a guy who's monitor blew up and burnt down his store.
I've been in a room when a monitor has gone POP before. I think it's the capacitors or transformers doing the popping. And that acrid smokey smell u smelt pretty much means it's dead.
holy crap!
$115??
YAY YAY YAY YAY!
I mean I'm in AU so $115 translates to about $230 or a bit less but probably a bit more with shipping etc.
WOW that's a great price for me.
where might we see rumours of who are going to manufacture 16ms substrates for greater than 17inch LCD's?
AU Optronics are the only manufacturer making the 16ms 17inc substrates right so are they going to be the only ones making the 19inch u think?
if you got to the dosh to throw around go for the top of the range...although saying that u could save a few bucks and go for a 9700pro..and still have pretty close performance.....depends if u want to save any money or what have you.
Best case scenario is money is no object and buy the best.

yah it takes forever to format and it's fine if it's just a data drive but if it's going to have OS as well it's nice to be able to have 2 partitions in case the OS needs reinstalling.
what I mean is displaying to a CRt and a DVI at the same time...I was wondering what issues if any there may be with sharing overall video card bandwidth and stuff like that or does 2D display take up very little?
I might be getting a LCD 19inch screen but I already have a lovely 19inch LCD. I was wondering If I can run these as a dual screen.
So that I could play games in the CRT and do work or read browse chat in the LCD?
Is this possible and would it work with any card that had both a DVI and D-SUB...
