Matrox 2D Quality over GF5200's

if your resolution is set to 1600X1200 85MHZ, you may notice some difference. It also depends on which brand of NV 5200. Quality manufacturers put quality components. Especially 5200Ultra version. You shouldn't see the differences.

GeForce 5700 Ultra OR Radeon 9600 XT

Dont' forget one import aspect, which is power consumption. I heard ATI 9600 series run much cooler than 5700 series. That's why you see some models use passive cooler which would be very nice for those noise senstitive consumers.

Is the best performance/value card still the 9600 pro?

It actually depends on personal taste. I personally prefer 9600XT, but it's doesn't require external power, and run cooler than 9700/9800 series, of course much cooler than NV 5700/5800/5900 series.

XGI Volari V8 Duo - Review of Final

It took ATI more than 6 months to stabllize the driver since its introduction of Radeon 9700. I bet it will take much longer time for XGI to come up a good driver. Plus right now there are better offerrings from ATI and Nvidia. I definitely will not consider within next 6-9 months. leland

9600 pro/np at Best Buy & Should I get it

It's np version, but it's SE or Pro or XT version too. It has same memory bandwidth like Pro or XT, but slower speed. I think it would be faster than 8500.

Are there any videocards that have decent video quality on regular TV's?

What I found SVideo is also much better and regular RCA output, but it's still not good enough to set non-HDTV resolution 600X800. Watching DVD on TV or REALONE is defeinitely enough.

Best 2D Card Under $200

Actually, you won't notice any difference among those come from popular manufacturers if you are going to just set resolution at 1280X1024. I would say ATI, Asus, MSI, Leadtek and Gainward are all good. You start seeing difference when resolution is set 1600X1200 or higher.

Just realized my 8RDA+ HDD LED keep stay on, never turn on. Also found recently the motherboard doesn't go to Energy Save Mode if I don't used it for while, and I checked the BIOS, everthing is set correctly. Anyone had same problem before ? Know why ? Thanks
