Thanks for the swift reply! :)
Is this something that can easily be accomplished using built-in windows features or is it v. specific to each manufacturer/model?
This is a bit of an odd request but I hope someone can help me out with a solution or an explanation... :)
I've bought an LG 34um95 monitor (34", 21:9 aspect-ratio) but also bought a Palit GTX 750Ti graphics card that has no displayport. It does, however, have DVI-DL and HDMI 1.4 something...
Mostly just to satisfy my curiosity. I'm building a system with an Athlon II X3 and I wondered how much of a difference it would make to go down to just two cores and meddle with the clock speeds.
Since the components will likely find themselves in another system in a very small enclosure...
Hello everyone!
Over the past few weeks I've found myself staring at hundreds if not thousands of stats and benchmark-results for hardware, and for the most part I've been unable to decipher how just how they relate to real world usability.
So here's what I'm wondering:
What hardware stats...
They cost about the same, so I was wondering what your impressions have been...
Specifically wrt to setup, BIOS, other aspects of the nitty gritty :)
I won't be doing any overclocking on this, and I'm a very casual gamer. I just want something reliable and useful! And hassle-free...
Hehe, I tried to use one of those calculators and then figure out what I'd need for good efficiency, but I think I may have overthought things :) didn't realise thatit was set to show consumption at a high load either...

720p videos were totally unviewable on my laptop (turion 64 1.6 GHz, 1 GB RAM, radeon xpress 200M with like 128 MB shared memory) until I tried CoreAVC. Now I can watch them without any problems whatsoever on a pretty 22" external monitor :)
So I'd say that might be worth a shot! Good luck =)
Or at least, that's what I think I'll need =P
It's for this build:

Summary: Looking for help with choosing a fast, quiet hassle-free 300GB+ 7200 RPM HD with one or two platters, from Samsung, WD, or Hitachi!
Hullo everyone!

Well now, knowing that about today's RAM certainly makes it easier to find a good deal! But can I expect totally reliable performance from those intel-appropriate sticks when they're paired with an AM3 processor running at stock voltage?? If so then sweet :D
I'd ignored the Athlon II...
Hey, thanks for the suggestions! :D
Good to know the differences between the 785g and the 790gx are small... I certainly don't think the support for RAID 5 will have any bearing on my satisfaction :)
Also good to know about this 80+ rating! As for the RAM, I was happy to find that kit for less...
Hullo!
As you can see, this is my first post on these forums... I'm looking for some advice and recommendations for my very first computer-building project :)
Specifically, I'd appreciate advice on compatibility and on whether or not it might be worthwhile to wait a month or so for any...
