    XP on an i7 system

    Both EVGA's and MSI's sites list drivers for both WinXP and Vista for their X58 boards (here and here, respectively). I didn't check any others, but I'd be willing to bet they do too. Given Vista's relatively slow uptake it would be foolish for motherboard manufacturers not to support XP.

    Thanks for the tip. I was looking at their air flow/noise rating ratio (ala newegg) and it looked good, but I have no experience with the company. Thanks for steering me clear of a noisy fan. My current system sounds like a jet and I'm really looking to make my next one quieter.

    argh! weird problem, please help....

    It's possible that your video card is giving up the ghost. Do you have access to another card to test the system with? I had a bad GeForce 4 a while back that would do something similar whenever I ran the aquarium screen saver or any program that pushed the card.

    I'm thinking about building a new system in the near future and would like to go all SATA. I really like the Plextor PX-712SA (DVD+RW, DVD-RW and CD-RW, press release here). I'd like to use a DVD-ROM as a second drive but can't find one that uses a SATA interface. Has anyone heard of one?

    Your best bet would probably be to write some VBA code that will actually take your data form Access, export it to Excel then chart it there. To the best of my knowledge, Access doesn't have any inherent charting capability.
