Will C2D work with this motherboard?

Found a BIOS update... Go to ftp.gateway.com and browse to /pub/hardware_support/bios/pentium/pb94510j/ Readme's don't say anything about support for new CPU's though. I think you're fine for Duo's, but not Quads. I went and looked at the CPU support list for a Gigabyte mobo with the...

Need help picking parts for a quad core cruncher!

OK, according to Newegg, the Ultra 120 is 160.5mm tall. In google, plug in "160.5mm to inches" 160.5mm to inches, and you get 6.3 inches, which is 7.5mm taller than the TT, so yes it should just fit. Edit because the forum butchered my google link. Edit2 because my 1 month old has me sleep...

Need help picking parts for a quad core cruncher!

Well, listed width for that case is 8 inches. Height of the TT with the fan is 7 inches. Not too much wiggle room there, but it should work. Personally, I'd look around for a slightly wider case.

    Reploacing Hard Drive

Dell's support site may also help... Go to support.dell.com At Step 1 plug in your Service Tag (There's a finder utility, but make sure to use IE). At Step 2 choose "Original System Configuration". This may shed some light on what type of drive was shipped with the system.

    who uses raid?

I use almost the same setup as Fullmetal Chocobo. Areca 1220 with 2x 74GB Raptors in RAID-0 (boot drive - applications and games) and 3x 500GB Seagates in RAID 5 (storage and backup). RadiclDreamer has the RAID comparisons on the money. RAID 0 can get you speedy transfers, especially...

Need help picking parts for a quad core cruncher!

Actually, I would go for this Rosewill PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16817182010 Only 1 main 12V rail which is better for OC stability and less waste of 12V power. I second the vote on the Tuniq Tower, great air cooler. Not sure what to tell on the case....the one...

ASUS P5WDG2-WS PRO Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Server Motherboard

From what I've read, this is a pretty solid board. I assume you have need of the PCI-X slots for a RAID or SCSI controller..... You will definately need at least full ATX case. I would look for a case that can handle an Extended ATX board if you want a little wiggle room to work. BTW...

    Need a P35 recommendation for a Q6600

I really hope you're right. I've got a pre-order in for a G0 Q6600. Because I want to do Crossfire and run an Areca RAID card, I'll need a board with at least 3 16x PCIe slots. (Since I'll likely never find a non-server mobo with an 8x slot.)

How would a 32-bit server OS play with mixed 32/64-bit clients?

I run a Server 2003 32-bit box, and had a XP 64-bit client on the network. No problems connecting, sharing files, joining the AD domain, etc.

Just curious....what've been your RMA experiences..companies that do it right or not

I've had to a couple RMA's with Newegg, and they are great. Easy online process and no hassles. Mushkin is just awesome. Had a stick of SDRAM die on me and they shipped a new stick overnight with return packaging for the old one.

Need help with ram...i'm buying somtime today or tomorrow.

I would go for the less expensive of the two if you're not going to OC. The more expensive one has some lower stock latencies and will likely OC more. Take the $20 and put it into a better PSU or CPU cooler.

installing windows XP, with a GA-945PJ mobo.

That was very helpful. Ok, you do not need a bootable floppy. You do need to copy the driver files to a floppy. Boot off the WinXP CD, and press F6 when you see the prompt to install additional drivers. Insert floppy and you should be ready to go. You could also use a tool like...

    Need Help with MB recommendation

Any Core2 based mobo should work fine with a 7950GX2 card. Because the SLI is all handled within the 1 card, the motherboard does not need to have any SLI capability on its own. As for the XMS RAM, you want to look closely at the BIOS options for your desired motherboard. Specifically, look...
