wow the IT system in my county sucks

Just think of the cost to convert to a new system. Especially after 20 years of custom work on your current system. Any new application would require months of customization and consultation from a team of programmers, a project manager and someone to manage that project manager. Some business...

LOST Season 6, Episodes 1&2 La X Airs: Tues. 2/2/2010 NO SPOILERS

I have never watched lost. I'm kinda behind the TV curve...I recently finished the entire series of Battlestar (the newest one) and it was awesome. I'm looking to get into a new series...I've heard that lost sometimes goes on and on without resolving things...is this true or not? I really like...

Cost of raising a child

What's funny is that many of the things you used to spend $$$ on suddenly become less important or vanish. The rewards of having a child are worth more than any expense you might encounter. Additionally, good people need to bring more good people into the world. You will give up...

My work PC is so slow...

Ha, I guess none of you work in IT. Remember, they are a cost center, not a profit center. So, some (most) companies give IT limited budgets to do their jobs and have long approval processes to buy new/replacement equipment. IT is a thankless job and every user is a budding computer expert...

Is there a reason to work beyond "just enough not to get fired?"
