6870 speed and temps

i have the powercolour 6870 and installed the gelid icy vision gpu cooler running it at the lower fan speed i am using ati tray tool to manually set my idle to 170/300 and the temps are 42-44c when it's in 3d mode, 900/1050 and the temps are mid to high 70s (overclocking it to 950/1050 gives...

Cloning win7 boot drive to ssd

question again should i upgrade the firmware of the ssd? it is a ocz agility2, 60gb it was bought on christmas also, what parameters should i check in windows to make sure all the settings are correct (not talking about disabling defrag)

thank you very much, i knew there was a software that would do it i was messing with the windows backup, and it wouldnt let me restore the files to the ssd then i tried clonezilla, doing it two ways, i thought it was going to work, but it didnt, which didnt make sense (one of them was cloning...

Cloning win7 boot drive to ssd

i'm going to getting a ssd today, and i'm going to clone my win7 boot drive to to the ssd because i dont have time to reinstall+reinstall programs and settings my win7 drive is 60gb and only has 15gb of space used so that's not going to be a problem, the ssd is 60gb (and whatever the format goes...

yeah, i put the memory at 333mhz now still cant overclock it, i did a prime95 test that worked fine in the first pass, but i was getting weird system glitches (no bsod) so i'm still back at square one

asrock 4coredual-sata2 r.2.0 was on 2.17a, decided to update to 2.20a, wanted to try overclocking it over the break again anyways, i cant seem to overclock it at all, i've tried previously, i am hoping that 2.20a somehow magically lets me overclock my cpu a little bit i've tried various...

Displayport problems

for some reason, the displayport cant hold a signal: when i turn off the monitor, the computer automatically disconnects the display, when i turn it on, the display reconnects the same monitor using dvi and vga does not do this (is this a feature in DP?) monitor: dell p2310h video card...

Any laptop with like specs+price that is better than Acer TimelineX?

i think the non ULV timelineXs are all 8 hours battery life, so at this point, i dont care about ULV models unless they reduce the battery size (thus weight) for the same amount of battery life in the regular timelineXs also, i doubt they'll have it before school starts, i mean, there's 2...

i'm interested in upgrading my cpu (have e6600 right now) on 4coredual-sata2 thinking of e8400, first thing i notice is that it's fsb is 1333mhz, so it will underclock the fsb right off the bat i'm wondering if this cpu even works

so if i format and/or partition+format it under 7, would be the same as formatting it under xp with the wd alignment tool with no performance difference?

here is the situation, my desktop is xp, my laptop is 7 i plan on putting this internally in my desktop, but i may take it out and hook it up on my laptop i also plan to dual boot xp machine with 7 in the near future the drive will only be for storage, so os will not be on it also reading...

thanks bruceb i just dont get why the exe unpacked the what was downloaded into the iso when it wasnt completed anyways, the downloader is messing up my internet in huge spikes ie /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ but very sharp and i have to redownload 650mb of stuff and there's 3 days left before the beta...

i got en_windows_7_professional_x86_dvd_x15-65804.iso and the file size of it is only 697mb is this right? the crc is C07864A7 before you say i pirated, it is off msdn
