What INTEL CPU do you currently use? Post here!

I see that most users use i7. For me I own Pentium 3> Pentium 4> Core i7! LOL, big upgrade jump for me.

Anyone feel that they DONT need to upgrade?

First rig : Pentium 4 2.4GHz 512MB RAM DDR400 40GB HDD nVidia 6600 inno3d (Bought maybe 6 years ago) Upgraded to a : Core i7 XFX HD4870 3GB corsair dominator DDR3 1600MHz Gigabyte EX58-UD4P 1TB HDD Big upgrade for me!

I think ill buy 3X1 gigs of RAM, and then use a 64-bit windows. Thanks.

Upgrade or not?

I'm using 32-bit windows 7. I use the pc mainly for gaming. GTA4, CS:S, divinity II, COD6, Assassins Creed, Red Alert 3, etc. As for the 5850, I'm waiting till nVidia releases the upcoming GPU's to grab one. And also, about the ram, if I buy another 3 gigs of ram, wouldn't mixing new ram and old...

Games released on PC and console. How do you tell which is better?

bet all on pc! Not that consoles suck. Both has good/bad, right? For me, pc rocks at everything! From gaming to ........(list too long)........(end of list). LOL

Gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r

I'm using the GA-EX58 UD4P. Cool mobo. The new UD3R would surely be a winner, lol. For mild overclocking, the UD3R would just do fine.

Difference of 1440x900 gamiing compared to higher res?

??!!!! How did you do that? I've got a XFX HD4870 1GB GDDR5. How did your HD4850 get those scores? Maybe mine is underclocked?

Difference of 1440x900 gamiing compared to higher res?

I have a 23' 1920X1080 monitor. When I play GTA4 on 1920X1080 my FPS is like 28-33. Smooth. I turn down the resolution to 1440X900 and I get 31-36 average. So i would say roughly 5 FPS increase for me. With cod6, maxed out, absolutely no lag. @1440X900 i cant see that much performance increase...

What video card with Q6700

How much are you willing to spend? (Like cusideabelincoln already said). Give us a range so that we could recommend a good graphics card.

Win7 + ATI + 1080p monitor = :(

Funny, I've got a very similar configuration. i7, Win7 and ATI HD4870 1GB on a 23' 1920X1080 monitor. I doubt its a problem with your GPU, so I don't think swapping GPU will solve the problem, but I may be wrong.
