Now back on Topic I play the game and love it.
The thing is Deserts of Kharak uses the Unity engine which doesn't thread for crap. So I think it shows according the benchmarks the game really prefers clock speed since it does most of the cpu intensive...
FPS: 63.1
Score: 2642
Min FPS:22.0
Max FPS 124.8
Cpu FX8320 4.83
2x 7950 3gb 1000/1250 clocks crossfire
I'll run it later on my 980x system and see if cpu makes much of a difference.
Has anyone had problems with the turbo working in games?
Casue tongiht I was playing star trek online . It usally put a little bit of load against my system but not to bad I notice my fps are down.
I pull up cpu info and notice my cpu is at 1.6 so it's never clocks up. So to test I turn...
What have you guys set your power draw levels too?
Right now looks like I can only do 4.4 at 1.3 haven wanted to push more volts right now.
Man this thing is quick at 4.4 for sure even feels faster than my over clocked 980x.
These new chips are a steal for the price.
Nice numbers guys am ready to see what this thing can do. I do wish we had a better idea on what was the voltage long term affects on this cpu's.
So who's taking bets on which cpu dies first.
Picked up a 2500k to play with . Will go in one of my water setups just curious what you guys are seeing speed wise thanks.
Any tips on what voltage and settings are needed to hit 5ghz , Am thinking that on water anything less than 5ghz I would be disappointed .
I kinda wonder why since SB chips are here . Why aren't any of the first Gen I 7 chips going down right now there not reason when looking at I7's to not get a 2600k.
So am just going to wait a couple of months before I think about upgrading any of my system's.
Wow I think most people forget there is more stuff that runs on pc's that aren't games anything that can use the other 2 cores will still be much faster on a 980x .
I agree with the Q6600 love but come on guys that's a old chip that doesn't do well in alot of apps and games.
I pretty much agree with everything you said am loving my kinect right now. Much better than i was thinking it would be. I have had sore knee from playing some much lol.
Did they ever make this I can't seem to find much got a broken xeon workstation that needs a board . Would like to find something more flexible as this is used more like a nice desktop no need for like a 600 dollars intel motherboard.
I would hate for these cpu's to go to waste.
You said you reset your bios is all your settings the same ? Sounds like it could be a ach setting or something also . Just make sure it not something else stupid am never seen ram change things like this.
Not a big difference at all just depends on the chip if you go 1.5 and 4.0 need very good cooling remember amd doesn't go as hot as intel so 62c is the cut off really.
That's hot for a 5770 you can take off the heatsink and check the paste . Sounds like it wasn't but on well at the factory xfx doesn't void your warranty either for taking it off just be careful putting it back on.
No your cooler is just on the old side just do your stress testing 50c is very high for idel so case flow may need to be looked in to.
You want to shoot for a full linx pack run where you can stay under 60c if you can do that your be fine in any game.
My 965 end on water doesn't like to go...
This thread  My 965 at 3.8 runs just fine even with FSAA on 1920 yeah that may be times in the single player I hit in the 30's but not very much.
All the amd hate makes me laugh in this thread.
SC2 doesn't seem to run much better on the 980x I think 6 cores makes it worst lots of...
Just depends on what you mean by server.
Has to be xeon to me cause at my work everything is at least dual quad and that something that is a big difference between i7 and xeon.
Thanks captain obvious . I asked the question cause I didn't have time to play with them yet so more of a benchrace if you don't like that then go troll somewhere else.():)
If you go to a quad i5 or i7 it will blow it away but there a lot of money to upgrade all your stuff. At 4.0 it can still hang but will still lose to the newer systems.
Yes most of them on the later boards have pci-express hell pic-express came out on the 6000 seris cards that was 2004 not very far . Most people forget that even during the Pentium D days there were a lot of 600 series pentium 4 hyper-thread cpus being sold on the low end I have about 200 of...
With a new video card you will be fine stay with something like a 5750 or gt250 will make a major difference . Read the specs of the game before you go out and get it lots of people over on there forums getting mad cause it runs bad and none of them are close to spec's
Well my laptop with a 8600m can handle medium if you turn down some of the other stuff I say it will be able to medium when in custom. SC2 isn't that demanding.
I think it's a ultra so it's really close.
Looked up specs
16 shaders on the 6800 and 9400 but 9400 is clocked alot higher
256 bus on 6800 vs 128 on 9400 so 6800 has more bandwith.
My Buddie has a older core 2 2.8 and these are his video card options.
He is going to upgrade but for right now he has a old 6800 and i have a 9400 sitting around I not in use anymore.
Am thinking the 9400 is a better bet because it has the more ram 512 vs 256.
But being starcraft 2 is dx...
Yeah that all sucks I always just fix them my self cause I always mod stuff there 200 dollars not a big deal if it breaks but it's not like the old days.
One rant I have had 2 ps3's die so I hate the stereo type that ps3's are great cause there not but for some reason there failures weren't in...
I don't understand what you guys mean by the play calling you have a lot of options if on advanced to shows you 3 plays I like to call my plays by type.
