Wont start up/ board led lit

Another DOA needing help.

Just put a new Chaintech board in with just vid card, ram and a Duron. Hit the switch and nothing, no fans, no beeps just silence. Plugged the old board in and it starts so no problem with supply or switch. Besides the obvious , bad board, what else would cause this? Trying to find out if the...

Broad band & Norton update Problem

I am running XP home. The ISP is InsightBB cable. I have been looking in all the help files and have found nothing. I am about ready to format and start over. There has to be something telling NIS that it shuld run Live update through a modem thats no longer in the machine.

Norton Ghost

Have you tried just making the bad drive slave and putting it back in, and accessing it from the drive that will work? Its possible you may be able to get to the files that way. I'll do that a lot when I change drives just to copy directly to the new drive.

I have had XP running for a few months and now messenger wants to start popping up . I have never used it and dont want it. Before it allways had the X accross it but now it pops up when I go online. Any suggestions??:confused:

Proper bios setting for processor? Help

I set it that way last night and it seems better. Was also thinking of going to the 1012 bios. it has 1010 now. I was wondering if the 1010 has the 2500 at the upper end of the support limts.

Problem on Rebbot -Win98

Need a refresher course on the beep codes. Friend of mine tried adding ram in a Gateway tower machine that is about a year old. When he starts up it gives the three beeps. Wont work by its self or with the old stick. Any replys appreciated

Can't uninstall office 97

Been there and done it more than once. The only way to get it all off is with the Cd and the remove all program. keeptrying to get the cd to auto run and get to the setup program. You may have to go through explorer and locate the correct setup .exe. The big trick is to do a complete reinstall...

Lost Drive E: after Fdisk???

Got a new machine I am trying to set up. ECS K7AMA board , WD40 gig drive. I fdisk the drive into three parts, 8,31 and 1G. When I reboot and try to format it says there is no E: drive. When I then go back to fdisk to check it, say yes to LBA it says it can't read the drive. If I do a low level...

Stopping a low level format???

What happens if you have to stop a low level format on a WD drive? I knew it would take a while but might not be able to wait four and a half hours before I have to leave. This is a brand new drive. Did fdisk and after reboot it comes back failure to read. It wont accept another fdisk. Was told...

Post up Error, Help!!

seems that Award must use the long and three short for video problem. Cant trust the companys for correct answers. Switched slots on the vid card and all is ok. Thanks for the help!

When you loose the color on the monitor is it the monitor or the card? If it could be either is there a way to verify which? Its a MAG monitor and an ATI video card.

Help correcting shutdown picture.

Where to Buy W95?

Anyone know of anyplace that sells full vertions of W95? Have an IBM laptop that i cant get all the files to upgrade to 98. Need to reload 95 but dont have the newest vertion of 95. My upgrade wont work, it says that the copy on the machine is newer.

no cd's

Did you try removing in device mgr and reboot? Might even try remove , shut down and pull the cables off, reboot. Let the system run without them,then shut down and reconnect. All else fails reload WIN

Hard Drive performance problem

Does your board have the four seperate drive connectors? Did you get the newest promise 100 drivers? I believe I have the same board and I set hard drive on the ATA100 master, Burner on the sec master. Put a cd rom and a small HD on the other two. Got really good results burning and transfering...
