The Internet is filled with stories of SSD failures. While I have had Hard Drives fail, I've usually received some type of warning.
I'm still using Raptors for the most part and haven't dwelled into SSD territory yet just because of stories like the OP. I know they're quicker, but I wonder...
Saw this new cheap Sempron;
AMD Sempron 130 Sargas 2.6GHz 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 45W Single-Core Desktop Processor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-939-_-Product
appears to be something different from the Sempron 140 as it has half the L2 Cache.
Anyone know if this cheap cpu...
The only thing I can think of is your problem is related to something which happened while you were breaking down the system.
I'm thinking something like a capacitor may have been bumped and is now disconnected or a small, foreign object in a ram slot. Could even be a CMOS battery gone bad...
Maybe you're right. I just have no desire to purchase anything ECS.
Just imagine you purchased a $300.00 Antec PSU, and discovered it was actually made by Okia?
Asustek plans to outsource motherboards and graphics cards to ECS, say sources
Monica Chen, Taipei; Steve Shen, DIGITIMES [Monday 28 June 2010]
Asustek Computer reportedly plans to outsource some of its production of motherboards and graphics cards to rival company Elitegroup Computer...
I just found this today for a cheap price considering what it is. I know it's the drive without the heatsink. But, what I'm wondering, could you use this in a Laptop without setting your system on fire?
Otherwise, what would the use for this be....regular desktop storage requiring cooling...
The thing I'm unclear on is the warranty. Is the open box warranty only good for 30 days through Newegg, with no longer warranty through the manufacturer? I've never been clear on this.
That aside, other components I might take a shot with for the right price. A motherboard probably not.
Thanks formulav8! After doing a little research on that Sempron, that looks like the ticket....particularly when I pair it up with a cheap Asus 710 southbridge on a combo deal at the egg, the CPU is costing $22.00.
Good call!
Just checked Provantage. They are showing it as a special item order and priced way over MSR. No thanks. I might just buy an Athlon II X2 240 Regor in the interim.
I really hate these delayed launches.
