At the moment I'm farming act 1 Inferno (I managed to finish act 2) with a 2 hander and no defensive skills. My plan is to farm a few million gold and do act 2 with dual wielding LoH weapons :D. I saw the other day a barb like that and he had virtually no problem with Belial 3 man (with me and a...
Actually you can choose to keep your 2 hander. I've seen a barbarian that had close to 100k dps with a 2 hand weapon, but he invested in attack speed and life per hit + life steal.
The problem you have to face as a barb is that you are always in the middle of the fight without any healing. The...
Its like that because the barbarian as opposed to the monk does not heal. So you either go tank with 900 res or you take a 2 hander, stack attack speed and strenght and go guns blazing hoping that everything is dead until you get killed. I chose to go tanky and take as many enemies at once. I...
You are wrong. People get one shot because they don't realise what the good stats are for Inferno. The stat priority should be for a barb:
All resist >>> Vitality > Strenght > ....
Get to 30K HP with ~ 900 All Resist + 1 hand good Life on Hit weapon and you are almost Immortal in act 1-2. In...
I highlighted your problem. 250 res is crap. I roll with a 25k HP, 7k armor, 700 all resist (without buff) barb and at the moment I farm act 1 Inferno. I faceroll everything there at the moment. I have tried Act 2 and had no problem with the wasps. ATM I'm farming to replace 2 more pieces of...
Actually I think you are in the minority because most people who play D3 don't really visit AnandTech's forums (any forums for that matter), or take the time to write a response to some internet anonymous defending their game. I'm not like most people, I do play D3 at least 3 hours a day and I...
Honestly to me it looks like crap. Its not dark in any way and reminds me more of some cartoon.
Diablo 3 its quite addicting, much more than Diablo 2 or 1. I really like the explosive spells, the physics, the armor, the look and feel in general. I have played every Blizzard major release to date...
Considering both of them are the highest end now from both companies, I really think they will last mostly anyone 2 generations. My last upgrade was the AMD 4870 from an nVidia 7600, so I know what you're saying.
I really think the number of forums/forum threads discussing which card is the most powerful between the 680 and the 7970 has gone through the roof. Both of them are great cards and really top of the line from both companies and we stay here and fight for the 10% difference between them. That is...
Sure, sure... The quality of THG and their forums has become trash. The nVidia fanatics are roaring like crazy people there. I used to be a regular there, but I left when I saw the direction to which they were heading.
I'm glad I see some other people from there though (Hi notty)
IMHO, you should buy whichever is cheaper where you live.
F@H has always been better on nVidia hardware, but this time around I have no idea since GTX 680 is not that good at GPGPU. I don't think you can go wrong with any of this 2 cards. I can say from personal experience that 7970 is a really...
You "mine" bitcoins with the help of your GPU and can exchange them for actual money @ specialized sites. I think you can use Bitcoins to make purchases on some sites but people exchange them for real life currency usually.
I agree, it should't matter to the end user which company supported the creation of a game if no foul play is made because of this. If it loses in a game, it loses and that is that.
Yeah, I know, this is the problem with early adopters. I actually bought the card the first day it appeared online in Romania. I was a bit upset that 2 weeks later it dropped in price with the equivalent of 75$. I bought mine with almost 800$.
You guys in the US got it easy :(
Ok, ok, I'll make it 1125 :).
Now in all seriousness when 680 first got reviewed I got a little upset at the 50$ price difference. But after some days when it first appeared here I saw that the 680 is @ the same price as the 7970 depending on the model (sometimes is more expensive). Regarding...
The 7970 or the 680, whichever one is cheaper where you live. The cards are equal (7970 OCed from CCC = 680 OC). Here in Romania the 680 is equal/more expensive compared to the 7970.
I won't be buying a 680.
My 7970 handles everything perfectly and from what I've seen it wouldn't be an upgrade, just a side step. Because I "love" nVidia, they would have to obliterate my card to even consider them.
You are right. Some people don't think that companies actually want to make money out of their cards.
Nice card. Made me doubt for a second if my choice for 7970 was right. I still think it was right because I still don't like nVidia as much as AMD and the performance gap is not that high.
Yesterday I have purchased an OCZ Vertex 3 120GB drive and I installed Windows and my games on it. I am pleased with the speed and overall feel of having the SSD running all my apps and games, but looking at the reviews for this drive it seems that I am not getting its full potential.
Before I...
In my opinion if the differences in IQ are not visible with the naked eye and only appear when zooming at 100% then all this discussions are really really dumb.
Both nVidia and ATI have a pass from me to optimize in any way they choose if their optimizations are not visible in day to day...
Ever since the launch of the 4xxx series I have been a lurker there so I can safely say that his benches are the closest to real world scenarios I have ever seen. I am sure he banned you for a good reason, seeing that others have opposing ideas, but expressed in a mannered fashion and don't get...
Well I will buy a new card in January. Maybe the GTX560 will bring the 6950 down in price.
I simply can't wait any longer as even my WoW experience is getting hammered by Cataclysm at full detail without AA (and I already hate that I don't use AA). I don't even want to consider how will Elder...
