Anandtechs reviews of Nvidia GPUs include 0 referances to "AMD", "Radeon" or any other competitor in the headlines and short note, and neither do they include this in the whole...

Hardocp is probably the only site that will include an oc 7970 in their review of 680. Just like they did with an oc 580 when reviewing 7970.
I doubt Ryan Smith would include an oc 7970, even when the regular 7970 are all 1000+ mhz in daily use. Would probably be a nono in nvidias review guide

There will be charts showing x1600, its just that those likely dont show the 680 in such a good light compared to the 7970.
Here is what happened: this is nvidias 680 which in turn is half of nvidias 780 which nvidia hope to release later this year, around december.
Im gambling on this being 5% faster/slower than the 7970 with both being stock. The 7970 will walk all over this when overclocked.
the "problem" is that your current psu does not have the 2x8 pin power input that the Asus 7970 DC2 requires, correct?
Your 295 is actually a bigger power hog than your 7970
any graph showing the 590 above the 6990 is invalid in itself. The 6990 is clearly the faster card in 3 out of 4 games. Having resolutions as low as 1600x1000 tipping the scale in favor of the 590 shows the huge bias in these "performance ladder" graphs.

its hilarious to see how the 7970 is a few % slower each time you compare it to the 580. Keep it up toyota, you will probably get to a point where you think its the same performance for more dollar...lol

I think in this case, the best news for Nvidia is NO news. The big talk of last time with a failed 580 was just such a letdown for very many people. And despite the efforts of those with preferances like sirpauly and notty, in general people did not wait, but went out and bought the 5870...
Another 7970 where all you need to do is just slide the OC all the way to the right?...
it will be interesting to see what 7970 Anandtech benches against the probably very late 780.
Wow, the 7950 has got ALOT of press attention from the looks of it. Beating the 580 at a lower price has given it a nice press presentation in several newssites which i hadnt seen commenting on GPUs

holy cow, are you on some personal anti amd campaign? as has been noted several times, but ignored by your fanboyish attitude, the 7950 costs alot. the gap up to the 7970 is small in some benches, bigger in others. people would rather buy a 7970 or hold on buying a 7950 till nvidia gets out...
I dont know if i would use the expression "beats it to pulp", thats what the 7970 does, the 7950 just is a better card in all ways, but it doesnt beat the 580 to pulp.
The 580 is still a great card in this price segment, especially if you bought one 10 months ago.
