Just wanted to make sure having the 2.5-3.5" adapter's mostly solid plate 1/4" above the drive wouldn't cause overheating.

Very Lackluster Release of new Haswell Laptops

Dell released the Haswell E6540 Latitudes last week. Only one configuration so far, featuring a 5300rpm hybrid HDD (yawn). Here is a link. No word from Dell on when they'll have the fully configurable units for sale.

why do we need all this RAM again?

I ordered my Dell i5 2400 Win 7/64 bit box with 2GB of 1333MHz RAM and am in the process of adding at least 4 more GB. It regularly bumps to 75% and feels like my old P4 1GB XP box here at home. Only running Internet and occasionally Photoshop Elements 7 on a regular basis.

I ran SIW and it said the memory was PC-3 10700. Weird since everything else has said it was PC-3 10600. Maybe a typo generated by SIW? I does list voltage as 1.5. BTW, Widows Defender flagged SIW as malware.

The only time I've added RAM to a system was to my old Dell, around 8 years ago. It was Crucial and I never had a problem. I'll run the checker just to confirm Kevinsbain's answer. Thanks for the tip ;-).
