Question Upgrading to dual RAM: add another stick or buy 2 new sticks?

I have a Sager laptop with 16gb of "Unnamed" DDR4 RAM. I was thinking of just buying another 16gb stick with the same specs/latency. Not that I need 32gb, but that would be the simplest solution. On the flipside, since I don't know what brand RAM this is stock, I could just buy two new sticks...

rtx 2060 mobile can't get to 100% utilization

can anyone help me? i downloaded apex legends, gpu runs at near 100% with 110+ fps no problems. heaven and furmark 100% gpu look great. warzone plays at 60% gpu and 40-50 fps. no vsynce is on. i even reinstalled the game and it didn't do anything.

Literally figured it all out now. Clock was still high. Pulled it down to 1,575mhz and no power/voltage limit. Even was able to get the RAM OC 400mhz as well. And in all that my temps are now steady eddy at 67c, down 5c! Too bad it's literally been two weeks of me not realizing this was the...

yes, using that too it shows they are almost always clocked at 100%. speed shift is on in the bios and balanced power is selected. shouldn't they be down clocking? when the pc isn't running anything hard?

Thanks, but even when I do that in CPU-Z they all show pretty much at the max. The multiplier goes to 42 and they are constantly between 38-42 even though I have nothing running at all. And once again utilization shows 10%. I would think they would downclock??

Sorry, I meant in the task manager the utilization may say 10%, but CPU-Z or HW Monitor show the clock speed at 100%, or around 4,000Mhz even while the utilization is at 10%. And yes, I meant "Minimum Processor State" at 5% within the power options of Windows. Sorry for the confusion. FYI...

I notice in cpu-z it's always at or near 4.0 ghz. i thought with speed step it is supposed to fluctuate and drop down to lower clock speeds when not being fully utilized? task manager says utilization currently is 10%, and speed step is enabled in the bios, but still it is running max mhz in...

I don't know if you've watched the videos on oiling a fan, but it's about a 4-5 minute process max. And I had to remove the fan even if I was just replacing it, so since it's out, may as well pop open the cap and spray some oil in there. But, I don't know how to open the cap, hence the post...

The Radeon 7850 is an overclocking beast

i played dirt 3 for a while and got 52-52-57-53 on the cores under load, whereas before i may have reached only 54 on the hottest core.

Logitech F710 gamepad issues

The wireless signal seems to go in and out. My USB dongle is on the front of the pc and directly below and to the right of where I hold the gamepad. It can't be more than 4 feet away. Is something wrong with my gamepad, or are they all a little finicky in terms of signal strength? Very annoying...

so can the video card and/or the ssd cause the mobo and RAM to both die? because remember, they have both died and the manufacturer has confirmed they were faulty on the RMA. so unless those two components can fry mobos and RAM, then it's not them (unless it's them in addition to something...

I had bad ram so sent it in. Immediately after it came back, mobo had boot problems. Got that rma today. I installed and booted back into windows, but I have gotten two gray line freezes while web surfing today. It did the same exact lock up when my ram went bad weeks ago when all these problems...

No pin issues. BTW, bought a speaker and it did the normal one beep but then froze on the start up screen before post, then shut off and repeated until I unplugged it.

first of all i never had problems with the OC until the RAM went bad, so the "your system has been changed because it isn't stable" bios messages never occurred until after the RAM became problematic. i changed RAM to factory timings/volts. i also changed vcore and multiplier, that's it.

i have been getting some bizarre crashes of late on my 2 month old computer i built. i was not getting bsod's and i immediately suspected hardware. ran memtest on my g.skill ripjaws ddr3 1600 8gb and got 35,000 errors in under 3 minutes of running the test. i tested just 1 stick in both DIMMs...
