The hotspot test has remained the same since I put it together honestly since I don't think there's anything that's really necessary to change with it.
I don't know what would lead you to believe that the devices in the chart weren't reflecting the new battery life test or that they were based on different testing methodology. Everything in the chart was tested using the same methodology and updated, that applies for all the battery life tests...
Ok so thanks for pinging me about this issue, I think it's always worth double checking especially if there's a discrepancy between what I'm seeing and what others have seen out there. :)
I'm always checking twitter (@nerdtalker) as well, if you want to get in touch instantly, that's the best...
Hey guys, I just wanted to stop in and comment that we're definitely not covering for or running any kind of damage control for Apple here. I can also guarantee that'll never happen. As others have pointed out we were first to numerically quantify the iPhone 4 antenna issue, but also were first...
Only Samsung really knows the answer to that question. There's a lot of variance between panels from what I've seen. I would guess that SGS3's revision can stand up to more than the Galaxy Nexus', however.
Anecdotally, I ran SGS2 at maximum possible brightness with Francois' software...
This sounds fairly accurate, at least for myself :P
I try my best to reply to emails all the time, and usually babysit the comments on any given article for at least 24 hours. As OP found out, I also respond super quick to things on twitter (or try to, at least)...
What you're seeing is how Samsung has clamped the brightness of SAMOLED HD on both the Galaxy Nexus and SGS3. In fact, clamping display brightness below what's physically possible is something Samsung has been doing to AMOLED panels for quite a long time now, to mitigate some of the burn-in and...
I thought I'd chime in - GSMArena is just regurgitating the specifications page from HTC which is incorrect.
The One X AT&T definitively does not support AWS for WCDMA.
We've had our review up for some time now: http://anandtech.com/show/3626/att-3g-microcell-a-comprehensive-exploration
And I had the pleasure of talking with a Cisco product manager about the microcell product as a whole. The only real issue is that handout issue I talk about in the article...
That's something I'm right with you guys on - I want to take these things apart.
I'm still relatively new to what manufacturers smile or frown upon, but I think the intention is to do that whenever possible. I don't have any problems with it, and I'm sure I can get things disassembled and...
That's definitely what I want to see as well - some real objective testing and some real hard data. There's a very qualitative feel to the way some smartphone reviews are done, and I think it is (at least my personal goal) a definite objective to get some hard data and benchmarks in there.
True...
Hey all, it's Brian Klug. I'm a relatively recent addition and very very long time reader/forum lurker, so go easy on me ;)
We're definitely working on and getting serious about smartphone reviews. I know Anand is already hard at work on his Nexus One review, and I'm getting some hardware in...
