They moved the gyro from the chassis to the engine, that's where the weight difference comes from.

Is an iPhone used as a laptop modem as fast as a 3G stick?

That I can't answer, I've never used a 3G stick. I imagine they are both the same or similiar: Slow. :)

    new machine build

+1 Get a more reasonable motherboard and CPU, if gaming is your thing. You probably don't need the 8GB of RAM either, go with 4. 750W will do you more than fine. Unless you run Xfire, you really only need a 500W max.

Is this a good gaming setup?

I get it, I really do. We all start somewhere. The best place to learn, if you have the chance, is from someone elses build, where you can ask questions and see what is going on. What raised the flag for me is that you asked what peripherals instead of just looking it up yourself. Simply typing...

Is an iPhone used as a laptop modem as fast as a 3G stick?

Just use the cable the cable that comes with the iPhone and enable tethering. Just google 'Tethering with the iPhone'.

Is this a good gaming setup?

Not trying to be a jerk, but do you REALLY think building your own PC is a great idea? I'm concerned that you have a knowledge deficiency that may make putting the PC together more difficult then it needs to be and may lead to co$tly mistakes. Do you have a friend or family member that can...

    Help With a Build

I have OCZ Ram in my AMD rig as well. One stick arrived DOA. OCZ replaced it pretty quick, but I have had lots of timing and voltage problems as well. I'll be trying a different brand next build.

    Looking for solution for dad

The cheapest option is to get a Media tank for $100. They can watch Hulu, or stream video from another PC. You can also just plug in a USB drive and play stored media.

    New Build for Dad..

He should be set for the next 3-5 years. Maybe a vid card upgrade at some point depending on what he's doing. Good job.

Questions about building new AMD system

What video card(s) are you running, that has the most impact on what power supply you should get. Get an Antec, Corsair or Seasonic. If you are running 1 video card, 500W-650W will be more than fine. If you are running discreet graphics, then you don't need more than 400W. G.Skill, Corsair...

So I was thinking of overclocking when...

They are on die. I did a little research, the difference in the 2 brands of temps has to do with how the digital temp is calculated, not the location of the sensor as I had stated. This is how the program works: (Reffering to Core Temp) Intel defines a certain Tjunction temperature for the...

So I was thinking of overclocking when...

Intel chips measure temp inside the chip, not at the surface or on the motherboard. 80C isn't going to kill anything. AMD chips, on the other hand, should not be operated at above 55C steady state, but that has to do with where the temp is measured. Internally, the temps are similiar.

    GFX Card Failing? (Pictures Inside).

I would suspect drivers first. Is your card overclocked? If you are still in the RMA window I would look into that, you may be able to get it replaced.

    $500 upgrade options

I would get a CPU/MB/memory upgrade. Do you have a Fry's or Microcenter close by, that combo you listed is on the pricey side. SSDs will get much cheaper now that Intel is making 25nm NAND flash, so wait a few months on that.

Gaming PC for World of Warcraft- Please Help Me Pick

And if you need some time to save up the money for the purchase and still want better frame rates, then simply drop $40-50 on a HD 4650. That will get you decent frame rates at medium settings in raids. This assumes you have a PCI-E slot in your current system. You probably have a 420W power...

New mid range gaming machine build

By design MMOs don't use bleeding edge graphics. 5770 would be adequate. 5850 would allow full details/effects even in high population envirnoments for the next 2-3 years worth of MMOs, I'm guessing. And playable with slight decrease in details for 4-5. How often do you upgrade and buy new...

    $750 build

As mfenn said, the difference between Athlon and Phenom is minimal in gaming. Athlons tend to be clocked higher, so if you aren't overclocking you will actually see better performance from Athlon. Get at least 3 cores. There are minimal gains for the 4th. New Egg has a deal on 1TB Spinpoint F3...

Go with 4MB. Build looks good. Most tower coolers perform within a few degrees of each other, a lot of people on this board will recommend the Hyper 212+, it's cheap and effective (but a pain to install, I understand). You may need a GPU upgrade w/i the next 3 years, depends on your...

    Help with 700-800 gaming system

I had a single 4870 before I went Xfire. It's performance is almost identicle to 5770. You will be fine for 1200 gaming, able to play on high details on 95% of the games. The super graphics intensive titles may need to be slowered SLIGHTLY to get acceptable framerates, but usually just...

Friend wants to play L4D2 on his PC. Looking for upgrade advice.

He's fine as long as he is okay playing 4+ year old games. Newer games will require newer hardware. For a price/preformance standpoint, he'll get a better machine spending $600-800 now instead of upgrading in $100 increments.
