ХАКЕР i got similar problem like you and the only working solution i managed to find is immediately after the driver crash i run this version of "GPU-Z.0.4.9"
it has a known bug of locking you'r GPU in 3d mode while it's running.
i think that the motherboard...
12gb of ram on a dualchanel board is somewhat strange number.
usualy it's either 8gb or 16gb. Maby you'r ram configuration is the problem.

recently build a PC with I7 930 and motherboard Foxconn FlamingbladeGDI.
Mine default core voltage is set to 1.25v at the bios and there's no option to lower it.
Im running with the stock cooler and it's reaching...

I just couldn't believe no one mention the Anion Generator's!
The only my excellent compatriot's i can think of are the low frequency noise it emits
and the minor power usage. But the +'s are soo many that you
can't ignore it.
