7990 rips apart the GTX 690 (Benches)

If one is incredibly charitable by assuming that the rumors about the 7990 using update GCN parts - in a similar fashion to the 7790 - is true, there may be some way to possibly view this as being a semi-reasonable thing to say under a pseudonym on the internet.

I'm actually working on a paper on ethics systems in computer games. I'll see if I can get a grant to buy a few Titans. My paper will clearly be better if I can game with 8X MSAA.

X4 955 Oc Help

I did not say anything like this. I prefer running @ 3.8 with less voltage since I don't really need an extra 200 mhz for anything that I do with the system. Running at 4Ghz is perfectly reasonable with my chip, but that does not preclude other choices from being equally reasonable.

I have hit 4Ghz with my 955BE. Completely stable. I generally run it at 3.8 since that's where the performance/heat balance is best.

TDP based turbo and reviews

I can't see a good way of accounting for this in benchmarks while still showing off a legitimate feature of the card. So long as reviewers put up the same YMMV warning they do for overclocking in general, I think consumers will at least be reasonably warned.

That would be better than nothing, but it doesn't necessarily give a fair picture to a consumer looking at buying a card. The YMMV problem doesn't go away with better reporting of clock speeds - it only goes away if clocks are static. To get good information we would need all the reviewers...

I remember seeing these pre-released tactics somewhere before. GTX 680 is 10% faster than 7970 at BF3. And Bulldozer really ran Dirt 3 great.
