I wish they would go back and hit some of the older screens to put it in context for people with older screens (me). I know my Acer x203w's will likely have less input lag, but they may have a more sizeable lag after the fact since they are 5+ years old. It's nice for benchmarking newer...

How about the Eizo EV2436W? It's PWM free, which would be nice to not have to worry about, plus prad.de gave it a "very good" review. Anyone have any experience with it? How is there warranty/return for dead pixels? I know with the dell ultrasharps it comes with the "premium display"...

Best all around IPS display?

I'm coming from a Acer x203w, so can't imagine the input lag is much better than a "slow" IPS. Correct me if I'm wrong. As long as I at least get the equivalent performance to this monitor in terms of delay I'll be fine. I'm not a competitive gamer by any means.

Thinking of SLI'ing two 770s now haha. Would a 770 watt be good enough for SLI, ssd, hd, 4700k, and a burner? It seems like the two cards would be about 500ish watts at peak, the CPU at 100ish? Maybe go up to an 850?

I'm not nervous about spending too much or I would have gone with a lesser card in the first place :) I'll take a closer look at the 7970. Edit: aren't there still some frame latency issues with the radeon series?

lehtv, thanks for doing that. I just can't do an radeon card. I play a lot of battlefield, and they seem to just choke consistently there. With my revised build with the corsair hx750 is about 1500 out the door with tax, and about $50 in rebates. We'll see, I may end up waiting, my i7 920 is...

Yea, I probably will just get a new case. The one I have sitting around is newer (6 months) but I definitely like the looks of some of these newer ones better. No windows necessary, MSDN :)

Yea, not really concerned on the budget. I had actually just took what I had in my cart and used it as the budget here, I mistakenly left off the CPU. So really, it's around $1500. It also looks like the hero board is on sale at MC for $174 which makes it that much easier.

What's with that comment? I understand polling of SMART data is not without consequence, but on my other drives it is hardly noticeable. This is the first drive I've ever owned that when polled for SMART data is drops down to .3 MB/s for that kind of duration.

Looks like I figured out why the drive was performing so weird. Running HDD Health while hdtune was running causes the terrible drops in the graphs. Not sure what it's doing, but it is causing the drive to bomb. First 50% of the test I had HD Health running, then I clicked exit on the 2nd...

This is a non-OS drive and has nothing on it. Ran the benchmarks after a fresh format. There is no anti-virus installed on the pc either.

starting to wonder if I just got a dud drive. May bring it back and just get the WD EARS drive. May not be as fast, but I've had good luck with WD and these drives are for storage only so doesn't need to be crazy fast.

Problems with my HTPC (interference?)

Everything is fine, except for occasionally I get 'noise' on my monitor. I am doing VGA out through my 8800gts to a 32" sony bravia. 60-70% of the time it's fine and dandy. But every once in a while I will get noise on the screen that looks like a tv channel that isn't coming in just right...
