Gamers: Win 10 vs Win 7

I compared CS:GO on 7, 8.1 and 10. 10 consistently had the lowest frame rate, around 4% less fps than 7 and 8.1 (which were the same). Not much at all, but there you have it. I don't really play other games so I didn't test them.

Not officially. That is, Microsoft doesn't provide a way to do that in Windows 10. Some third party apps might be able to disable it, but who knows what they really do. I don't think any serious company/agency would want to use them.

I did an upgrade 7 to 10 recently and it shrunk the C partition and created a 450MB "Recovery Partition". (When you manually do a clean install, you can avoid both the Recovery Partition and the System Restore partition.)

RAM requirements for Win7, Win8, and Win10 ?

In my experience, Windows 8 uses a bit less than 7 and 10 uses a bit more than 7. But they're all very close and it's hard to give a proper evaluation, especially with 10 which is a very "busy" OS with lots of stuff running at all times. I used 7 with 2GB of RAM for a long time. It was alright...

Not any time soon. :) Also, if I ever decide to do it, I'll do it manually with an iso, not through Windows Update. I'd have to get the iso for a clean install anyway, no point in downloading Windows twice.

I agree with you, OP. There's just no point (yet), IMO. Currently, pretty much all I see in Windows 10 are disadvantages (data collection, forced updates and ads/apps, bugs, slowness). If one day these things are no longer an issue, I'll consider using it. But right now there's just no point...

If anyone cares, this is what I found: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/926258 (4th post) It appears that the JS code in Speedtest is interpreted differently by (newer versions of) Firefox, which results in higher ping reports. Mystery solved, I guess. :)

Yeah, it has a lot of options, but for your task just: select M4A as the format and then go to audio, click on the the file in the "output" part and then select modus: Copy. Then click on "Add Job" and "Encode". That should do it.

You probably mean AAC, that's a typical format for audio with videos. When you extract it to an audio file it should have the extension .M4A and should play in most audio players.

Technically you shouldn't be converting, but you simply 'extract' the audio portion of the file, so that you don't lose quality in the process. If the audio portion happens to be some weird format you can still convert it. Xmedia Recode can handle that and more. Another decent one is Avidemux.
