GTX 480 or GTX 460 1GB SLI?

I would go with the SLI GTX 460 for better performance, less heat, and less power consumption. Your PSU really can't support 2x GTX 480, and I really wouldn't want to deal with heat that comes out of both the GTX 480s (if you ever wanted to upgrade). If you have a large case, and don't mind...

Seeing the success of these chips in SLi scaling (and by themselves) makes me wonder why Nvidia insists on the huge die sizes they have become famous for :/

Ive made up my mind on a case......

I would definitely go for the ATCS 840 out of those three cases :> HAF 932 has that annoying look, and the Obsidian is too expensive. ATCS has the sleek look and the good features.

Yeah that took me like 5-10 minutes to figure out with my HX650, but I didn't really mind it since the cables were plenty long.

Corsair or Antec?

I would get the HX750 as well. You don't need the 1kW so you might as well go with a more compatible PSU with better efficiency.

new Rig, please Comment

If you aren't adding a second GPU, you could just as easily go with a cheaper Gigabyte or an ASUS P7P55D-E. Even if you do need the extra PCIe x8 slot, there should be cheaper options with both USB 3.0 and SATA 6 since the GD85 should be a fairly expensive board.

Looking for a heatsink to impress clients

I would go with the H50 as well. Even if the H50 isn't exactly 'water cooling' I think people in general are more impressed by water cooling.

building a rig. thoughts?

At $250 a piece, I don't think the GTX 465 is a bad buy, however I would be wary of SLIing two of those cards in an Antec 300. I would want a case with better airflow like the CM 922. The main problem I could see happening is your motherboard not supporting SLI. I don't think the AMD Chipset...

Two cores, two different temps

I get this too on my i7 860. The rest of my cores are around the same +/- 1C while Core 0 is normally like 3 or 4C above the others :/

Corsair Aircooling A50 & A70

It seems to have a lot of competition at that pricepoint but I don't really see anything that sets it apart from the other DHT heatsinks on the market? Also looks quite expensive compared to some heatsinks like the Mugen of Hyper 212

Which CPU will help AMD the most? (Poll included)

I'm pretty sure it would be Llano for laptops as well. If they can get the IGP up to par and keep good battery life and heat output, AMD has a winner. That said, I'm more excited for Bulldozer at the moment.

Urgent :) 4890 vs 5830 which?

I would go with the HD5830. Sure you lose a bit of performance, but there are areas where the 5830 does win, the card should run cooler, and suck about the same amount of power. Especially with the mail in rebate that brings the price down to $200. It seems like the better deal overall imho.

I need some headphones for pc

I have a pair of Sennheiser HD212s and the bass is very nice on these. I normally hear a lot of good things about the Sony MDR V6 as well.

S12D 750/850 or HX750 ???

I would definitely go for the Corsair for the virtue of the 7 year warranty alone. They are both impressive units though, so I would just go with whichever looks better or is cheaper.

I would definitely still go for the HD 4890. If the HD 5830 goes to around $200, then it becomes a good choice as well.

e8500 upgrade

I don't think there is a very large need to upgrade your E8500 right now to be honest since it is already a very high end chip. I doubt it would be a very worthwhile upgrade at the moment when it comes to gaming
