Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

Yes, you have misinterpretted it. Perhaps I should have linked to the first page in the image quality portion of the article. Sorry about that, if you read that over it should help you to understand better.

Analogue connection, when will it be obsolete and replaced by dvi ?

nVidia cards used to have a little problem with image quality, but it is much improved now. As for the best, Matrox's Parhelia is supposed to have much higher quality filters then any other video card, explained here. As for the question, I would get a monitor that supports DVI. The LCD I have...

    use vorbis, no more mp3!

What is 'mp4'? Are you talking about MPEG 4, the video compression format? Divx is a MPEG 4 codec. One of many, as a matter of fact. MP3 was made in 1988. I think it's time to move on to something new. Ogg Vorbis is a state-of-the-art, open-source, completely free audio codec. That means...

White LED's, will they become a mainstream lighting?

Couldn't you make a white LED without that problem by putting in a red, green, and blue emitter (or whatever its called) right next to each other? Then you wouldn't have to deal with the phosphor problem.

Like divix format in the video world, now what we need is an ultra-high-compression & quality image file format

Here is another interesting technology, although far from mature. Fractal Image Compression. There are better sites, I just don't have the time to look for them right now.

Like divix format in the video world, now what we need is an ultra-high-compression & quality image file format

Actually, i believe that mp3 is fairly old. There are newer and better codecs available, such as Ogg Vorbis and Monkey's Audio. As for your question, JPEG2000 looks promising. It can do high quality-low filesize compression, lossless compression, and other neat things, such as the ability for...

Suddenly Doom 3 looks like horse poo.

Funny you should say that. Quake 3 uses simple radiosity for the maps (not in-game lighting). But essentially that?s right. You are blinded by the light :) If you look closely, you will see things like misaligned textures, repeated textures, bad lighting, et cetera. Poly count has nothing to...

Suddenly Doom 3 looks like horse poo.

A quote from the guy who made them: The software did all the lighting. Thats the only thing that makes these images better then other ones. If you take any CGI scene and render it with radiosity, it will look much more realistic. Of course, it also takes much longer.

    Peltiers

A peltier moves heat from one side of itself to the other using electric current. It is also possible to generate electricity with a peltier using different temperatures on each side. My question is would it possible to use one peltier to cool a chip, and attach another peltier on its hot side...

    off-site Avatar??

As something along these lines, would it be technically possible to make an "AnandTech Browser"? Or even a less specific FuseTalk browser? This would be a small client that you would download, and would build the webpage itself by bypassing the webservers. This would use less bandwidth (I...

    I'm thinking about going vegan

Actually, I believe that it does cause them pain. I doubt deeply emotional pain, but pain nonetheless. That is why you are not supposed to euthanize animals around others of the same species, because it will cause them distress.

    I'm thinking about going vegan

By what crazy, messed up logic is fish not a meat? Eating muscle tissue from land animals is bad, but muscle tissue from sea animals is perfectly fine? Just because it came from the ocean means that they are not officially animals anymore?

    Fusion

Two hydrogen atoms get mashed together to form a helium, which has something like 60% of the mass of the two hydrogen atoms. Because E=mc^2, the remaining 40% gets changed into energy.
