If you installed it, I would check the Intel Rapid Start settings.

Did you reconnect the SSD when you booted into Windows 8 repairs? So originally you had Win7 and you upgraded to Win8 on the same drive?

Take a look at the BIOS >> Restore on AC Power Loss. If it is on Power ON, that could be your problem.

As VirtualLarry suggest there could be huge problems after dropping a laptop, but there are a couple other possibiliites that could have occured. First go through the motions provided in Alzan's link. Find your own motherboard model troubleshooting guide if its too difficult. Basically in...
