430w not enough for little boost on 3570k?

A decent power supply like the CX430 will turn itself off when you draw too much current from one of the rails. I believe it will stay off. You don't always get blue screens when a computer crashes from unstable overclocks. All sorts of things can happen, restarting wouldn't be an uncommon one...

Tell me I made the right decision on my processor...

Kinda sad, but the 2500k is still suggested as the best processor to get for gaming. I don't think you are going to see very noticable differences vs anything else, so save the money for Haswell next year and hope it offers a better upgrade.

I would hope for 30 bucks extra dell would put something in there that wasn't terrible. If a 6450 is rated at 27w and a 6670 at 60w or so, I'd imagine you have that 33w of headroom. If you want to take the the safe route I'd say a get a 5570 which uses about 43w supposedly .
