Preventing System Reserved Partition during Win7 install

If you have only 1 disk connected, it will be disk 0. The "clean" command will delete all partitions from the target disk, and the "create partition primary"will create a new partition that uses all the space on the target disk.

RAID = AHCI If the disk is set to RAID mode, you could switch the OS to a RAID array in the future with no penalty now, and no messing around then. If you know beyond doubt you will never use RAID for your OS, just set it to AHCI.

I prefer keeping the entire install in a single partition. That way I only need to backup and restore a single partition. I don't spend much time troubleshooting. If the OS is haywire, I simply revert back to an image that isn't. It takes less than 20 minutes, and I know the OS will function...

Macrium Reflect is free and will do the job easily. The important thing is to set the disk to AHCI or RAID in BIOS before installing W7 on the HDD. W7 will properly align the partition(s) it installs to, and Macrium Reflect will preserve the alignment when you paste the image to the SSD.

But if you simply move the maximized window from one screen, and touch it to the top of the other, it automatically maximizes on the other screen. The window will be in the restored state during the actual move, but why is it important for the window to remain maximized during the move?

GetDataBack will probably work- if the drive isn't failing which it may well be. R-Studio is very good, but it's not free. TestDisk is good and free, but not the easiest. But the best data recovery tools are your own backups. No other recovery tool comes close to proper backups...

I think everyone would, but what is your point? Corrupt files is not the same as corrupt parity. RAID 0 can only have corrupt files. RAID 5 can have corrupt files and/or parity. Corrupt parity would cause down time as soon as one drive dies.
