I'm so confused as to which monitor I should get

I would go for a 27" IPS 1440p monitor; it's the perfect combination. Text is still too small on a 27" 4K monitor; I would at least do a minimum of 32" or higher. You'll most likely have to use Windows Scaling on that 28" Samsung 4K monitor.

    Mouse feet thickness

Is your mouse scrapping on the mousepad or desk you're using? If it doesn't then I wouldn't worry about it. I got replacement mouse feet for my old MX518 and the thickness is less than the default ones like yours, but the mouse slides more smoothly. I'm satisfied with them.

Wireless keyboard Logitech MK270 is GARBAGE

I use the Logitech K360 wireless keyboard and the Logitech G602 wireless mouse. They both have latency issues until I used USB extenders for both USB dongles. I'm pretty sure I have interference somewhere near my desk.

FPS Mouse needed: Castor or DeathAdder?

I also came from an old MX518 and a G5 v2. I would recommend that you take a look at Rocket Jump Ninja's Top 20 gaming mice. http://www.rocketjumpninja.com/top-20/ I just got the Dream Machines DM1 Pro S for $49.99 (no tax and free shipping in the US) from the manufacturer's site and it's far...

Need a plain adult case. See inside:

I have a Corsair Carbide 200R and it's pretty nice for around $50. It has a simple, clean look and none of that flashy stuff. 300R is another good option for a slight increase in price.

    Corsair Carbide 200R: Standoff Problem?

Motherboards are pretty durable; I wouldn't worry so much about the weight of the CPU cooler. My ASRock Z87 Extreme4 motherboard is thinner than other motherboards in its class, but I'm able to use the CM Hyper 212 EVO with no problems. I have a Corsair Carbide 200R with the CM Hyper 212 EVO.

Actually with the 200R you can just snap in four 2.5" SSD/HDDs above the 3.5" HDD cage without any tools. If you look closely at my photo you can see the Samsung 840 EVO installed above my 3.5" hard drive.

Question about switching phones on Verizon

Verizon doesn't use SIM cards unless you need it for travel in international countries that require a GSM network. Verizon = CDMA network (ESN/MEID of device) AT&T/T-Mobile = GSM network (SIM card) Example: AT&T mobile phone will not work on a Verizon network, etc. Vice Versa. Swapping...

    Anyone Work For Verizon Wireless?

Most mobile lines are blocked from making international calls and you need to enable this. You should add the $3.99 international value plan; voice rates will be much cheaper. If a user is traveling out of the country and will be using his mobile phone, you should call Verizon and tell them...

Low budget cell phone, MP3 player, camera, GPS, No data..?

I don't think GPS will ever work without a data plan on a mobile phone. So don't be expecting that as a bonus. You can probably download offline maps and use that for directions as an alternative.

Woz calls out apple for being arrogant with screen size!

If the text is too small on the Galaxy S3 then you can manually change the size in the default browser. Settings -> Accessibility -> Text Size You can also zoom in on the web page by double tapping on the screen instead of pinch-to-zoom. You can adjust this setting in Accessibility. P.S...

Woz calls out apple for being arrogant with screen size!

How are you comparing the iPhone 5 in landscape mode to an Android phone in portrait mode? That doesn't make any sense. You also have to scroll left and right on an iPhone 5 if you pinch-to-zoom; same thing applies to the S3. They both can do fullscreen in landscape mode...

Woz calls out apple for being arrogant with screen size!

I do agree with you that it's tougher to reach the notification bar and the address bar in the browser. I usually have to switch my hand position and grip both sides of the S3 to have my thumb reach the top of the screen instead of gripping the bottom of the S3 for normal usage. It was tough for...

Woz calls out apple for being arrogant with screen size!

Diagonally 4" doesn't mean it's the exact same screen size. I'm pretty sure the Galaxy S3 mini and iPhone 5 screen size is different if you measure them by length and width. It's like you are saying that a 23" full screen monitor has the exact same screen size as a 23" widescreen monitor...

To prove my point... I just took some photos of me using the Samsung Galaxy S3 with my right hand. Top 3 photos and 1st photo on the bottom shows me doing random tasks. Then I have a photo of me holding my car keys to show you how small/average my hands are. The last photo shows you what...

Woz calls out apple for being arrogant with screen size!

You're making it sound like that's really hard to do this when it's really not at all. You can eat a burrito or sandwich in one hand and use a mobile phone in the other hand easily. Why not lay the mobile phone on the table or floor and use it when you really want to use it? Of course this...

On the Galaxy S3, using one hand... I can unlock the screen, text a message, dial a phone number, facebook, browse the web, read/type my emails, take photos with the camera, etc. with no effort at all. The only time I really use 2 hands is to pinch-to-zoom on web pages, use landscape keyboard...

Wow. Your statement is very bias. It's only praising Apple and ignoring how much Android devices has evolved over the years. You need to be more open-minded. I happen to own both the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S3. I love both devices. They both have their strengths and flaws. iOS 6 on...

Buying Used Cell Phones - How to Protect Yourself?

FYI. If the seller has insurance (always third-party insurance; not through Verizon) for his mobile phone and claims that his mobile phone is stolen a few weeks later after you brought it then your mobile phone could be blacklisted. The third-party insurance would not know that you swapped...

Buying Used Cell Phones - How to Protect Yourself?

Buying Used Cell Phones - How to Protect Yourself?

GS3 just recently came out, so I'll be surprised that someone would want to sell it right now. I would tell the seller that you need to activate the phone before buying it from him. This is to protect yourself from buying a stolen or blacklisted phone. Show him some money to ensure him that...

Why do mobiles suck so much?

Touchwiz isn't that bad of a user interface. It isn't as pretty as the stock Android or HTC interface, but it's simple enough to use and looks pretty nice. The camera on the S3 is actually great; however, the iPhone does take better photos. Burst Shot with Best Photo works very well on the S3...

    Unlock a phone for dummies

You are correct. Verizon phones are locked to Verizon's CDMA network. Verizon has blocked all U.S. local GSM networks (probably even different CDMA networks). They do this by whitelisting the MEID on the mobile phone in their database or through the serial number on the SIM card you insert into...

    Canon PowerShot SX40 HS

It's top-notch camera for its class; however, it still uses a consumer point-and-shoot sensor 1/2.3". If money is an issue then this will be a great camera for your trip. However, this looks as bulky as a DSLR camera; you'll definitely need a camera bag for this. However, if you can spend...

Nikon D5100 to Micro 4/3 or NEX, etc?

My point wasn't just about the size of the camera bag, but that you can take photos on the NEX-5N with one hand (without much fatigue) instead of holding it with both hands. It's a little heavier than a point-and-shoot, but still lighter than a full size DSLR. I was originally looking at the...

    NEX 5N vs NEX F3

The Auto ISO on the F3 has been updated to go up 3200. The F3 tilts the screen upward 180 degrees, but barely tilts the other way. I'm guessing for self-portraits?? The 5N tilts the screen upward 80 degrees and downward 40 degrees. Both models support the optional EVF, but it's extremely...

    NEX 5N vs NEX F3

The NEX-5N has a higher ISO 25,600, a touchscreen LCD panel (with object tracking) that can tilt up or down, AVCHD 1080P 60FPS, has ISO 100, continous shooting at 10 FPS, and is thinner. Also comes with a portable flash, but I rarely use it. The NEX-F3 has a built-in flash and has a slightly...

Nikon D5100 to Micro 4/3 or NEX, etc?

Actually, it's not just about the extra size, but the weight difference between the 2 cameras. If you held a Sony NEX-5N camera in one hand and the D5100 in the other hand; you'll notice a major difference in weight. I own a Sony NEX-5N (with the Sony 18-55m OSS lens attached) and it slightly...

Is it possible to use two wireless devices to broadcast the same network?

Also, remember that you will have to set your wireless encryption to either WPA-TKIP or WPA2-AES. If you have it on "Mixed" or something like that; it might not work correctly. I had this problem when I was messing with the DD-WRT settings. The main problem I had with setting up repeater...
